Thinking Of Tivo - Read First

i jsut got tivo installed today no fuss just plugged it in with a modem or wotever he used off of my bb

i think its brilliant i used tohave sky plus and it knocks socks off of that cant compare it to v+ though as never had that

Someone has put a question on Virgin's forum (link below) today to ask people with a positive experience of TIVO to make a contribution. Several people have replied.

I am still trying to decide between the basic V box and Tivo. I'm curious to know just how many Virgin customers have stuck with the V or V+ box. I would go for the V+ if Virgin were not charging £5 a month for it.

i just found something i dont like it still much better than sky but doesnt have a reminder feature- when i looked it up it just said if you want a reminder why not just record it? i thought but i just want to watch it in like half an hour not record it

but i guess its a minor thing

I know Sky are in discussions with other companies about F1 coverage from March, nothing definate that I have heard about as yet, but I believe that BBC will get some of the coverage, the only channel that will have all will be the dedicated Sky F1 channel

Thanks for the interesting post. Am thinking of going for Tivo. Currently have V+ which i am happy with. Was thinking of moving it upstairs. Does Virgin still offer free installation/activation for existing customers?

Try the ' thinking of leaving us option on 150' then ask what deal they can offer to you on Tivo, if they want to charge you for activation / installation then explain that you have seen on the web site that new customers get this for free & you thinks its unfair being a loyal customer etc etc & fingers crossed you should get a deal.

Didn't work for me! I wanted a 1TB box and they wouldn't budge - he reduced our bill by £7.50 a month for 2 years so I figured that paid our £100 charge! I said other people or new customers were getting it and he said that they couldn't do it.

They wouldnt budge on a 1tb box for me either but got the 500gb installed & activated free with no extra monthly charge. Just depends who you speak to, keep trying it took me a few calls before I got a decent deal.
