Keep plodding xx
Thanks Beanielou .... that made me laugh ... it reminds me of a line that Paul Bethany says in the film "A Knights Tale", with Heath Ledger ... where he's asked what he's doing and he replies ... "Trudging ... to Trudge ... the long weary walk of a man when the only way is on" :rotfl:
What else did I have to mention .... Ahhh, yes ...
My broadband TCB cashback of £35 is not showing payable yet (due Feb. I think) but is showing confirmed and I also did a free sign up via Imutual which is showing as tracked for another £30 (due march) so a reasonable start
I’ve decided that £20 per month – is going towards my £10 a day challenge figures for 2013 (only for this year), which is the monthly bill reduction from switching broadband providers.
I’ve had a couple of scratchcard wins of £6 yesterday and another of £5 today!
Just need to count up my coppers & see how much is in there … not much I’m sure, as I’ve been very remiss in doing these for a while. Also those pesky 5p’s .. they seem to multiply everywhere, but then hide from me when I try to take them from the purse !
I’m thinking about additional savings accounts, and maybe a couple of pre-paid cards. The cards will really be acting like “accounts pots” and will be for specific things and also annual payments (that way I can save on the additional costs of paying monthly etc ie Insurances or car tax). Maybe one for emergency funds too.
I’ve nearly done my 2013 Diary pre-fills, so that I can see what’s coming / things I want to do, and get ahead & prepared early. This will include comparing car insurance quotes in good time to switch this year! More money for the kittybank and towards those debts.!!!!
I’ve also meal planned for January, and part of Feb already. Just want to sort some batch freezer recipes out and spend some time over a couple of days doing them & freezing. I also need to do fridge / freezer / cupboard inventories, including bathroom stuff.
Housewise, I seem to be swinging from having glimpses of small areas you could momentarily almost call looking "homely" to returning to feeling like a junkyard dog ... passing through container city & packing park on the way ... I desperately need this house sorted & soon!
I’ve managed to fill three recycling bags with shredding of old paperwork so far, but still have at least 4 cardboard boxes of old paperwork to do, plus Mr GA’s old accounts paperwork that is no longer needed. This should reduce some clutter and free up a bit of ground space, but there’s lots of other boxes still needing opening, unpacking, sorting & dealing with. Feel so ashamed that after all this time ... they're still so many of them lurking around the place untouched.
Plus I have numerous large items that I need to get rid of (preferably by selling on gumtree) and the medium / small items by whatever method I can (again by selling if poss). I just can’t get to most of it at the moment even to photograph !

Well the big “R Day” has been & gone for a while now, and I’ve been kind of licking my wounds a bit and doing a fair impression of a crab under a rock. About as much use to myself as a chocolate fireguard really, pathetic even.
My wages arrived in the Bank, but the Redundancy money seems somewhat elusive – having NOT arrived as promised. Words are likely to be said tomorrow, there is no excuse for not doing it on time. If they think I won’t want to rock the boat due to needing references from them in due course – they are going to be a little surprised.
It's going to be a toughie this month, it's not about earning extra but earning a Living to replace my wages. February will be my first month in full redundancy, and until I secure a new job, I will be using the Make £10 a Day Challenge to motivate me to earn, and so anything & everything I earn will be logged. I also need extra money to cover some car maintenance costs which I can’t put off.
A target of £750 min is on the dartboard! That makes for a £30 a day benchmark, a tall order maybe, but I need to try. I've still got these few bits to try out on Gumtree, plus the bits for ebay .. though as I've never sold on it before, so it will be a learning curve, postage costs will be a bit tricky to work out as I've only got basic kitchen scales.
I've been toying with a few ideas even whilst hiding in the sand, just need to get my butt into gear and make a plan of action, or at least the start of one – it can always be added to or tweaked as other things cross my mind. Its time to stop dithering & get re-focused.
Keep well

Thanks for the support Beanie, good to see you x
Having a single post to note earnings may help me keep on track (and make sure I account for it all) so I'll add to this post as well as any update post. All the earnings are going into a piggybank (well dragonbank actually). It will not be touched until the end of the month. Then I'll put enough into the bank account to cover bills and the rest will go into cash envelopes (moneypots). When its gone, its gone.

Job application was hand delivered yesterday and have found a few more online to explore later.
£40 arrived in account from TCB, will withdraw it for the dragonbank as soon as I've got wheels again. Desperately need some more thought as to what else will bring in the pennies (well, more than just pennies but you get the idea)
Two Course info packs arrived today with two more still to land. Already pretty sure I want to do them all, but head is currently winning over heart and insisting I don't jump in financially with all of them at once. Will have to prioritise which will have most immediate impact and chose accordingly.
The wagon's gone in to be fixed, hopefully to be finished today, keep dreading a call saying can you come today for an interview (ok wishful thinking perhaps, but it's happened before)
Musing over things in my head and it occurred to me that having some kind of structure to the working week days would help with focus & stay in-tune with a work environment, same as not creating a habit of lolling in bed for a daily lie-in. So creating a flexible daily schedule of activities is in order I think.
Working on my Frozen Asset & Meal Plans for the next few months, having been inspired by a couple of threads & some new recipes I stumbled over whilst looking for something else - as you do. Will be great to try out some fresh ideas and will try to add bulking ingredients in to stretch it that little bit further. Hmmm, a batch cooking session is looking like being a forerunner for the daily schedule.
That's all for now folks ....

Just a quickie with a couple of udpates
Another £10 Scratchard Profit going into the pot ... they seem to like meAnd my final pay from work has at last arrived, not that it's a lot but it's something :T
The wagon is home & fixed, and my wallet is just shy of £200 lighter for itIt couldn't have waited until I had another job could it. Guess recouping that money needs to be added to target.
Time to get back to work, job hunting.

What a slow day it's been :undecided
Still, I managed to locate another 3 jobs to apply for - have printed them out, prepped my letter & cv ready to go. Will email them later once I've done my final check-overs.
Tomorrow is my designated "Agency Day". I shall be trotting into town to register with some Agencies for Temp & Permanent jobs. It's also local papers day, will grab them as well to look over.
Still working my way through my huge pile of recipes, looking for new options to try along with doing a couple of regular batch meal options. I've done a batch of Spag Bol today in the slow cooker, and padded it out with lots of veg & pearl barley. Should make 6 or 7 meals.
That's it for now.

Thought I'd pop by and say hi!
Good luck with job hunting. I guess it's not very easy out there. Are their possibilities for temping?

Hi 365, thanks for dropping in .... please bag a chair and help yourself to refreshments ... there's even a variety of pancakes in honour of pancake day on Tuesday
You're not wrong ... It's really not easy out there atm, and there's nothing worse for your self-esteem than dealing with those who don't even take the time to say thanks but no thanks. I've only just started, I so feel for those who have been stuck here for any length of time
BUT .. you know what ? I've beaten it already recently ... twice ... and after everything else I've been through, I refuse to allow it to beat me now and make me a victim. Hark at me ... I sound like Michelle Pfieffer in Dangerous Minds ... "There are no victims in this classroom" !! ... yeah, I should be so lucky to look like her :rotfl:
I've got my Temp Agencies scheduled in tomorrow to re-register with (having bombed out on that task on Friday) and I'll only succumb to signing on next week if I'm not working somehow at that point.
There's several courses, but one of them is a photography refresher , I've previously used my film based SLR and could really do with brushing up with the Digital SLR and I guess some proper Photoshop or similar training wouldn't go amiss either to make the most of it.
Signing off for the night ...
