Vanilla - I do sympathise with your struggles with Rhys. My DS1 has a terrible temper and always has done. At 8 he can describe how he feels and sometimes we can help him to calm down, but it is too easy for me to react negatively especially when I am under pressure. I am trying really hard to respond calmly, and I actually managed to diffuse a nasty one last week by hugging him at the right time so I think it does pay off a little. I hate it most when he does it at school.

Wendywitch - I sell a few books on Amazon, but that is it really. I had a look at Zapper as well, and I am aware of Green Metropolis too but the money involved for the time and hassle has never been worth it - or that is my excuse :o

I did quite a bit upstairs yesterday but still have lots to do downstairs. I really like Dustys idea of a stress free Sunday (which would give me time to write Greenbee) but for that to happen I need to change what I do in the week as I have a tendancy to flop when I get home.

I have been doing a lot of research this week on dealing with negativity (for work) and it is fascinating how you can turn attitudes round if you try. I am applying the same stuff to myself and I do feel better for it. Good thing here on five things to do instead of complaining.

    :wave:Mornin everyone

The little fluttering I did yesterday has made a difference in the kitchen :) which is an incentive to do a little more today.

WM is on. E card has been sent to friend for her birthday :o Note to self two birthdays to remember on 14th Jan so REMEMBER them and do something about it!!!! Not that I forgot today's birthday girl I just didn't do anything about remembering :o:( Too wrapped up in adjusting to work whilst walking BD.

I took a leaf out of your 'attitude' books ladies - without knowing that's what I was doing - I thought I can be miserable for the next six, oh no tis only 4 more now woop woop, weeks soaking in the awful atmosphere at work, or I can be me and see what happens. HeHe it was quite comical on Thursday watching people react to a cheerful Good Morning when they signed in for work, they've obviously grown used to grumpy Admin....but on Friday those people were well ready with their own Good Mornings :) much nicerer.

Need to make a list of what MUST be done this week as got 5 days f/t work and DS goes back to Uni on Saturday and... and... and... scuse me while I panic :(

Cuppa coffee and a prioritising list to be written next methinks

Hugs, sticks, spoons, fluffy mules are heaped by the back door- feel free to collect :) xxx

    hello everyone

I just poped in to say thank you to Juliejim for the list this week.
I have been following it but laptop went crazy so been on pc and wasnt logged on.
Happy New year all hope it brings good health and happyness for you.

I love the information on not complaining. It would be good to print off and put up at work.....but then maybe I would seen as being too checky! It would make life nicer though if people could try and follow it!!!

Everything is pretty much uptogether here thanks to you guys for your lovely motivation. A day off apart from cooking :j:j

Totally agree. It is only work and you can make yourself so unhappy without realising you are doing it. Negativity is infectuous, but so is being positive. And if nothing else you will annoy the serial moaners :D

    I hate hoovering.
I put it off for as long as I can, and it is easy to seethe with resentment for half an hour before I actually do it.
As soon as I finish it the stupid dog will come in and roll on the carpet and it will all happen again
    Pointless doing it
Why am I doing it anyway?
If I don't do it then no-one else will
    They aren't my dogs
The dyson is clogged up with dog hairs and I have to clean it
    They aren't my dogs
This stupid carpet doesn't help, it collects hair
    Can't afford a new one
no-one else cares if it is clean or not
by which time I am sulking and everything else is negative, and I resent everything I have to do including looking after the boys which makes me snap at them too

Or I could just get off my bum, send five minutes hoovering, and focus on the positive of having the floor clean :p and then take the boys to see the Morrismen (and let the dogs cover the carpet with hair again whilst I am not looking) whilst DH cracks on with making my dream kitchen and we will ALL be happy.

My beloved cats obviously do not leave hair anywhere. They are far too angelic and purry for that. It is simply dog hair cunningly planted in the places that the cats sleep.

Positive energy :) Don't underestimate it. Try and work out how much negative energy you waste and see of you can turn it round?

oh dear, I sound like a self help book.

Kazwookie, did you have a good break and did they like their presents?

  • I have just descaled the iron - so no more excuses!

DD2 has a sore throat - is this round of bugs ever going to stop?

vanilla - you have all been through a lot over the last year - could Rhys just be reacting to everything? Could your health visitor help at all?

Something very odd is going on with the black ones, they have taken to sharing a sofa and are getting closer each day. Only about 12" between them today very odd. I love my cats almost more than anything else, ssh don't tell family members who they are definitely higher than.

Think I'm getting there, I've never stopped since I first posted but got lots done. Teenies gone to play football.....when his room looks like THAT! Teenagers *rolls eyes* he'll do it but I'd rather it was done NOW! *control freak* :D

Littleys playing Wii inbetween watching the tele and going up into her room to 'pack' ....erm....you've packed what exactly?!?! lmao I gotta laugh.... :D

Got all the stuff by the door to put in the car to take round to OH's, need to pop to Morrisons for bin bags, milk, ready meals for tonight's tea. Lily cat hasn't a clue what's going on so has retired to my bed to leave us all to it....she's not daft.

Will find my listy and update:-

    Tax return
    pack clothes/smellies - my room
    pack bedding/towels etc

    pack up bathroom
    pack remaining kitchen cupboards
    finish packing littleys room
    finish packing teenies room
pack car up and take to OH's (more stuff)
    bubble wrap glasses/cups/vases

take out wiring for brick shed
OH to move plug sockets etc
    rabbit round to OH's
2 x iron garden seats round to OH's
    hoover
    WM
    TD
    DW x 2

final tidy brick shed and garden
    rubbish out

Feels like I've done much more lol

On the subject of positivity, I'm not a naturally positive person but I do try to have a positive outlook, around AF time is my worst for bleakness as sometimes it hits me really hard and I feel proper ill, the last time it happened I was so fed up of feeling grim I told myself I was not going to let it overwhelm me again and I've been much better since. Also lots of exercise, yoga and changing my eating habits has really really helped, more than I'd ever thought possible, but it's all down to changing the way I was thinking. Negativity makes me ill, positivity doesn't....I never noticed until a couple of months ago. x

    Right, offski's to Morrisons x

    Me too!

I've been missing just surviving doing dailies and working.
So far today, i have vacuumed everywhere. Done loads of washing. Tidied a corner of our bedroom but still more to do.
I am going to iron now cos I don't want to have to leave it until this evening when i will have probably run out of energy.
On the plus side, we managed to keep the LR carp free all week. I have done a 1 minute walkround everynight before bed putting carp away. Go me :A
    Catch you later :p

Nothing done so far, and I need to get going. DW needs emptying, sitting room needs tidying and hoovering, bins need emptying, cleaning cloths and mop heads need to go through the WM, and as it's nice, the garden could do with a bit of TLC. Somehow I doubt much of it will get done though!
