Beanrua - this sounds like my bed - at the moment, I can't open one of the wardrobe doors as there is a pile of stuff in front of it. Did HHC in there today and will do another one tomorrow....Cleared the tops of the drawers at the start of Dec and have been quite strict about keeping that cleared so know I can do it if I try.0 -
Right at the end of my HHP the kitchen fitter came. I have found an independant bloke - he does work for us at work and is a joiner and kitchen fitter - our school secretary has already used him and I have beeen very impressed with what I have seen so far (he actually lives really close by to me, anyway) his plans/paperwork are organised; quotes impressive (style/detail not amount;), he clearly doesn't smoke, he has happily come out to rejig...and as I now need a wall taking down and rebuilding...I am really rather hopeful. My units will be made to order (as opposed to off the shelf) so watch this space - will be done sooner rather than later (thanks to BoMandD) and he says I DESERVE a new kitchen - what with the pliers holding the gas on, TD in the shed etc. he is, of course, right. I just need to slot in the fit so it doesn't interfere with school exams.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

HH decluttering[/FONT] very big WIP
Calories decluttered:
Very fast 7 mins round the block at 6am in horizontal rain and 2 very uninpressed dogs! Then did 20 mins on my treadmill this evening.
I also have a horrible cold, just what you need going back to work!:o
I have also:
Got clothes ready for tomorrow
Got brekkie and lunch for tomorrow and my gym clothes sorted!
Done 2 lots of washing :T
I think I know where I went wrong last time with flyladies - I tried doing everything all in one go. and couldnt manage so beat myself up about it. So this time I will do levels 1 and part of 2 during the week and do a some HHDecluttering on a Sat morning. There is so much that needs doing it is overwhelming!
Hopefully that way I'll have a proper work/cadets/exercise/house balance.
How does that sound to people?

Onestep that is EXACTLY the way to go...
it works like this
week one (and for this I am assuming you are at home all, or most of, the day and are not a new mother/about to give birth/have ill-health)
you do all the level ones for every room, and your dailies - maybe washing up, laundry, S&S of bathroom(s) kitchen. You haven't had a 'routine' before so this is hard work.
Week 2 - dailies plus all the level ones - a bit easier now, you've done it once, you start to add in some level 2 tasks.
Week 3 Dailes. all the level ones - wow REALLY easy! and almost all, if not all the 2s. Maybe even a couple of 3s...
Week 4 - Dailies - and aren't you getting QUICK at them? Level 1s. Level 2s Level 3s on a good day ALL levels plus, perhaps, an extra...you start to have a routine...
Week 5 - Dailies are a doddle; Levels 1, 2 + 3, extras, maybe start a declutter - one drawer/shelf/cupboard. Do some FLINGING - start to enlist/get help from other family members...
Example of routine - when I worked F/t I changed the beds on a Saturday. I went P/t but CONTINUED the Saturday bed change routine. Then I joined Flylady. Then (eventually) I changed this to a Friday - I wasn't at work on a Friday; kids are usually at school on a Friday so they are up at a reasonable time so I started stripping/changing the beds on a Friday. Made FAR more sense - and better use of my time. Because it's a routine I know when they were last changed/when they need to be changed. Doing all the beds the same day works for me because I can wash it all in 2 loads; I'm at home so if it's fine I can get it on the lines, if it isn't I can run it through the TD. It doesn't need planning, it's just done!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
