Is the dehumidifier noisy? Does it cost much to run? How big are they?
Mine is a cheap homebase one that I got to dry out the utility room when it was damp proofed and lined a few years ago, so it isn't the best or quietest. The ones like SusiQ has are better. Or you can get whole house systems that live in the loft and run continually.

It might be worth seeing if you can borrow one or get one on freegle to try before deciding. You may only need to dry the house out once now you have the new windows. But I'm surprised they get condensation - my plastic French doors and side window only get it on the outside. It might be worth asking on the 'in my home' board. Did you check that the loft insulation isn't causing ventilation issues? There still needs to be space for air to circulate up there, so if you keep stuff in there as well as insulating it, then it can get a bit crowded!

I'm sorry you don't like your windows :( I can't believe they managed to make wood look like plastic...

Not yet :o still trying to pluck the courage up. One of my friends left an unsubtle message on my FB wall but people can only see it if they look on my profile page and I doubt he has.

Thank you for asking though x

Well first day back at work and I'm shattered this evening and there wasn't even any kids in!

Ditto that - actually, I was shattered before work! Lackof sleepdue to nerves and then the weather! I had many people telling me I looked tired :o Mind you, I was standing in front of 60 people so I guess they could see me easily!!

Slept for an hour when I got home and felt much better for it :D

Not much done here but will update list anyway ..............

I've sorted 1/2 of one of my desk drawers while watching tv. Loads of paperwork shredded or put in the recycling bag and only a small pile to keep so far.

I'm super tired now and need to take Ds2 to school tomorrow so i'm off to bed in the hope i don't sleep through my 4 alarms like usual.

  • [Sigh] and today, the doctor supposedly doing my steroid jab decided to be off sick. I will have to steal a supermarket trolley and get Minion to wheel me in there if these shenanigans continue much longer.

So I came back and checked on the aquarium (being treated for algae, so Gary the golden Snail is in isolation, as the chemicals leaflet couldn't guarantee his personal safety) tracked down the escapee Gary where he had taken a fancy to a pair of scissors with yellow handles on the counter  and then got too dry so had shut up shop, thus looking deaded, relocated in more secure accommodation - and checked for signs of nondeadedness, which he showed after a while, so relief there -

    DW unload & reload
Washing up  3 bowls (changing for new washing up bowl as well) & clean sink
    Countertops
    Swept floor
WM X 1 (testing Lidl's Formil for the first time)
    TD X 1

    Splats fed fresh meat

Mopped shower room floor, as I used it this morning and Dizziee was tracking little wet paw prints across the kitchen floor.

Collected more rubbish from front room, mostly sweet wrappers, sorted out throws, watched cats throw themselves on the throws to sleep off the fresh meat.

Watched somebody else's blue recycling bin flying past the window _pale_.

Then just made tea and relaxed.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
