People not knowing how to use motorways properly.

One thing is very clear in this thread, as suggested by the OP people definitely don't know how to drive safely on motorways.
We have seen posters:- Advocating that drivers in the centre lane should get out of their way.
- Suggesting that dazzling drivers in the centre lane is OK.
- Seeing nothing wrong with tailgating.
- Braking to stop tailgaiters.
- Playing games with other drivers.
Last year 158 people were killed and 669 seriously injured on Britain's motorways. All by drivers who thought they were driving perfectly safely.

explain how that is bullying if he is being assertive?
Saying I am bully does not mean I am with out explaining it. If you do not explain it to me. I will not learn and the OP will not learn. Thus we keep doing it! If you explain it, it will discourage me and the OP from doing it.
When police cars etc use lights to get people to move out of the way. Are they bullying? No they are being assertive.
When people are in the way, I do not want to cause them any pain.
If they were not hogging the middle lane it would not happen.
When I have been flashed for being in the middle lane to long, I move over as I realise I am in the wrong. I do not feel bullied at all.
What I will say their are people who will flash aggressively as they aggresive people and their driving style in a whole reflects this.
This in itself does not make it flashing aggresive act.
Oh dear. Flashing someone to MAKE them get out of your way rather than just overtaking them in the lane provided for it is bully boy tactics. For every one person like you who doesn't mind being kicked out of your lane there are 9 other drivers who do mind.
Your driving instructor should have told you what your headlights were for.
End of conversation.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0 -
That is how I had the front end ripped off my car. Lorry in the left hand lane decided to straighten out the roundabout. Here's another one, people who treat every two-lane roundabout as a straight-over junctions, and just totally disregard the lane markings. It's only the vigilence of drivers in the lane they cut into that saves them from a bump. Lazy lazy lazy, can't be bothered to go "round" a roundabout.
It wasn't an artic so it wasn't even a case of the centre of the trailer cutting in on a bend as they tend to, just cr*p drivingThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
It ust requires common sense yet it seems to not be present for some drivers.0

I've read some crap in my time, but i've never seen anyone write it on such a consistent basis as you. There can be little doubt about who is the biggest menace on the roads. You freely admit to deliberately slowing down to inconvenience other drivers whose only alleged crime is that they want to use the road in accordance with the Highway Code and go faster than you.I would suggest you stick to taxis, but they never leave the middle lane.Oh dear. And as far as bullies go, I don't think you'd know one if he hit you in the face.0 -

I so dearly wish that I could use Mrs Stick's special 'R" word, but I don't want banned

Well I am driving a HGV again. I can not go into the right hand lane to over take. My driving instructor said that is illegal.
Since when has flashing your head lights once or twice meaning you are kicking them out of the lane?
If they were not sitting in the middle lane not over taking anyone they would not get flashed.0 -
It doesn't happen to me often but when it does I NEVER move over. if I do then I am encouraging that person to bully the next person and the next and the next.
You are obviously a bully as well. Another one.
No wonder people will flash you in a more often as you intentionally annoying some one who is just trying to get to their desination.
Here is a question for you
Some is standing in a door way and you want to get past and they have not moved for 1 minutes?
a) keep waiting for them to move
say excuse me as you want to get through the door
c) tell them to get the fu**** out of the way.
My answer would be B. Which is the same as flashing your lights.
If you drive up some one bumper and flash repeatedly flash without giving them chance to move over. That would be the same as answer c.
Though if i asked you to move politely to move you would stand their even longer as you will think its bullying.0 -
If I'm not in a hurry I sometimes slow down as well. They always get the message. Sometimes I wave cheerfully and give a huge soppy grin as they go past. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
That must make you feel so good. So earlier on when you said you do not want them to BULLY the next person.
Now they are going to be later and be in a bad mood, thus they will probably drive more quickly and be more impatient with the next person in front.
Thus rather than teaching them a valuable less as you were trying to say earlier, your actually make the issue worse.
Lets add which is based on a true story.
I was not driving FYI.
We were trying to get some one to hospital and it was a two lane motor way. We wanted to get past so they could get to A&E. We flashed them as wanted to get to A&E. Well if it was you, you would not only make them take longer before they could get treatment but also enjoy the fact its take them longer to get their.
This may not be the most common reason, however it does happen. But we obsvisouly needed to be taught a lesson0 -

That entices road rage, now i am not advocating anything it only takes one person to follow you home, watch what your doing.0
