Me only customer with Barclays for stoozing, don't have bank account with them - went to First Direct (£100 bribe worked ;)) from carpy Santander

Which insurance co., are you with Jeff? How come wifey insurance so cheapo?

Maybe be'cos my silly OH had an insurance claim on his old car. The silly bu99er did not put the handbrake up properly when he parked the car in 2008 and it gently row down the street & hit the neighbour's car whilst everybody was asleep! Got a call the next morning from the neighbour asking us to look out at our window:eek::eek: nothing wrong with OH car but the neighbour car has a small dent in it:o

2010 wasn't a good year from me - Me got hit & run whilst parking @ Tesco carpark luckily there were 2 witnesses waiting for me to come out & took the other lady's car details for me. At first she denied it to the police but when she was told that I have witnesses she accepted the blame & was trying to sort out the repair outside insurance claim but me not accept it rather go thru' insurance and that time I was with Aviva they sort out everything for me. I like Aviva they are very professional.

Then Nov 2010 we had a bad snow - a lorry skidded & hit me car bum:(:( thats another claim via Aviva.:o both cases not at fault - phew!!!!!

Morning Mrs M, welcome to our carp world:D

I know you from somewhere, was it from the moc thread before MT took over?
Or was it from DTD thread?

I still have nearly 2 years fixed rate to go before I can look for another mortgage lender with better rate. Mine was fixed for 5 years @ 6%:eek: that time we did not know that Bank of England was going to reduce the rate so low after 2 years:eek:. I still have 9 years to go before I am officially release out of the Banking prison:D

Blimmey Doc that high fix for time we had a 4.99% fix for 15 yrs with HuMMM Northern Rock taken on Feb 06 but just to make you feel worse:p July this year they offered a free redemption if you wanted to move or remortgage (think cos we put in the bad bank) saving us £7000 we are just about to complete a new deal with the Coventry 3.65% fix for 5 years but completly flexible can move without redemption fee. We were looking to try and get as near to what we had left with Northern Rock so were going to go with a Chelsea deal which gave us 7 yrs fixed at 3.39% but the Coventry gave us more flexibility. I worked out saving £7132.60 taking out Coventry with what we had left of Northern Rock Chelsea deal would have saved £8516.50 over 5Yrs but the deal was for 7 so £11923.10 figures would be slightly more as just used the outstanding amount x by 5yrs when working out % but obviously as you pay each month the figure changes. But we borrowing a bit on top now to do some home improvements but atleast we get it at a cheaper % well for 5 yrs anyway. The sad person that I am I am going to work out later exactly what I will be saving now on the new deal
  • Afternoon all:)

Aesop thanks re spud shillings left an enquiry with them they should reply in 24 hrs:A

BL £24  That was a fantastic deal

Jeferey how do you find First Direct as a bank thinking off moving our current account for a better deal with Halifax atm been with them since day ....... but saw in Martins weekly email a good deal with First Direct and £125 cashback waiting for this remortgage thing to complete in case it gets complicated but then looking to move.

I have also sorted out my missing mug from personalised football offer that didn't turn up as didn't have time earlier

:hello: Emmylou, of course we don't mind you asking. [STRIKE]When are you due? was looking at your scan in avatar.[/STRIKE] ignore me, just seen your signature!

JTD - is Tesco's Just the difference, before they did double the difference, if they were more expensive then their competitors but found they were losing too much money, so made it just the difference.

basically you go shopping at tesco, get your receipt, come home and input the details here, and hope to get a voucher back because they are more expensive then their competitors, namely asda.

    https://www.tescopricecheck.com/PriceCheck/Pages/Default.aspx

you can also use it for your online shop.

what the clever ones on here do, is have 2 lists. one is for making sure you get a voucher back from tesco and the other is for stuff that is needed but won't create a voucher.

use mysupermarket.com for checking the difference to make sure you will get a voucher although T has a naughty habit of saying not applicable for certain products.
