Afternoon everybody
Jeffery you are far too good at this changing things around to get best deal.:T
This weeks effort at money saving by me is being at the in-laws.Most of the electrics off in our house so not paying for gas, leccy or food(does this count or is it cheating?)
Of course im missing a few bargains, hoping to get to tesco later if OH can sort the car out(of course we come away on a break it breaks down lol).Want to see if i can snafoo a few mags with coupons and get some of the cheap velvet tissues seeing as we all have runny noses now!
Trying to do my bit tried to show MIL how to use tesco price check.Think we are resolved that she will scan reciepts in and i will do it for her at my end.:rotfl:
Hoping to get to my favorite money saving place later trago mills!!!0 -
Well results r in from Tesco price check....£11.64 cheaper at tesco apparently! I spent £91, and only £48 was comparable. Blackcurrant squash was comparable, yet lemon squash wasnt...hmm, theres alot of things on the list with N/A that Asda obviously sell so i dont really get how they do it
There were a fair few things Asda were a fair bit cheaper on too. xx

Haha i didnt actually "go wrong" as such, its the first time i`ve ever even thought about doing it, and just happened to find a reciept out on the kitchen side! I know for sure broccolli was 97p in tesco, and only 50p in Asda! That was on Monday too btw xMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,

Afternoon all:)
Thanks everyone on replies re First Direct helped confirm our decision.
Certainly going to make the move now DH just had a really bad experience with Halifax yesterday. He has been with them 33 years always had a non fee account until 2 yrs ago when a adviser persuaded him he would gain from having the ultimate reward which you pay £15 for(Typical bloke never listened to me at the time saying perks are rubbish you can get better else where). LIGHT BULB moment when he has suddenly realised he is paying £15 to have his pay put into account for nothing i.e. holiday cover cause of health conditions can't use as they up the charges which is more expensive than going else where for quote so not free as implied. Yesterday went in to ask Branch Manager to change back to what he had with no monthly charges he was basically mocked and told you won't get any money back which he wasn't after in the first place just wants to stop £15 currently going out of account. He was so condesending insisted in reading out all the perks he would be missing out on saying we wouldn't be able to sleep at night if didn't explain. DH said he had to get out of there before he really lost it with the guy (although DH is going through a Victor Meldrew face atm):D:rotfl:he has reported him to their customer service about his attitude. So look like we gone be First Direct customers.

Thanks AH:beer:
Anyway, back to mortgage,
My OH called our current mortgage provider. They give me 3 options to change to new rate from 6.24% to:-.
Option 1 - 3.59% for 5 years with a repayment charges of 1% of what I currently owed them
Option 2 - 3.57 for 2 years no repayment fee.
Option 3 - 3.59% for 5 years no repayment fee, no booking & valuation fee (straight forward transfer).
AH, is yours @ 3.39% for 7 years or 5 years? Do they charge you Booking and Valuation Fees ? I went to their website to have a look but can't find any 3.39%.:oRIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -
We are not even halfway thru' the year and I am already up to my neck with bills to pay:(.
My car service/mot/etc cost me £362:eek::eek::eek: good job I go via company account so me not have to pay vat:o still I need to pay me boss back. Then because the garage does not have the test machine facility for my car I have to take to another garage to find out why my engine light is on - they dignosed it & replace the valve & I have to cough out another £95 (paid by cheque) to put it right:(. Luckily I can pay my boss via instalment:D
Then have my final council tax rate to pay. Tomorrow another £300ish to pay out for my multi car insurance by debit card cos' they will charge me 2% if I pay by credit card:(:( me no likey!!! as I will be worse of if I pay by Tesco credit card it will defeats my saving.
Its a good job that at the mo all my shareholder savings pay for my billsRIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -
Heard on the radio today was worst day for personal finances. Sounds like you can vouch for that Dr
I was really lucky when I remortgaged a few years ago, I went for a variable linked to base rate with ING Direct and interest has only been 1.39% for over 2 years now
It was over 5% when I took it out, went up a bit then plummeted. And to think I nearly went for a fix at 4.99%If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0
