Lisa,
Is it because baby is falling asleep before getting full? I feed on one breast she tends to fall asleep, I then change her to wake her up and the feed using the other breast. She then falls asleep again, but fullish! I used to only feed on one as she fell asleep and she'd wake more often.
Hope this helpsGot married 13/11/10

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone is doing well.
Just a question about feed times when bringing solids into our baby's routine.
He did have 4 9oz bottles a day. Approx times
6.30-7am
10.30 am
2.30 pm
6.30pm (Bath before)
goes to bed for 7pm and wakes up around 6.30. He does stir throughout the night looking for his dummy aswell. But only needs his dummy for about 10mins and then spits it out.
We brought baby porridge into on week 17 (seen HV got all ok) and last week (18) started bringing veg into it.
So he has his porridge between morning bottle and mid morning one around 8-30am. And his veg at 4-30pm. But he normally struggles to finish off his mid morning bottle and also his evening bottle.
What times do/did you give your solids inbetween bottles. The HV says its ok, but am thinking to put his veg between his mid morning and afternoon one 12 ish so then he does not struggle with his evening bottle.
Any advice would be very helpful.
(Little boy aged 19 weeks) He also takes a few meds which might effect things too. (Nutramigen, Gaviscon, Ranitidine )0 -

When I weaned my daughter and now my son I do the undernoted.
8oz bottle when awakes roughly 6.30am-7am
Small bottle of 3oz to make up his porridge and a wee drink at roughly - 9am
Lunch 6oz - 3 teaspoon of veg or fruit - 12-12.30pm
Dinner 6oz - 3 teaspoon of veg - 4pm
Supper - 8oz bottle - roughly 7.45pm as starting to get tired about then
Ryan was drinking 35-37oz of milk before I started weaning at 20 weeks. Now he is nearly 23weeks and drinks roughly 28-30oz plus 3 meals a day. We only just onto 3 meals last week as it was struggling to take lunch bottle and he did not need it.
Are you giving him too much food or maybe you should reduce the 2 bottles during the day to 6 or 7oz bottles so that he drinks his last bottle.
I was giving ryan his bottle in his bouncy chair and he could see his dinner so after 4oz he could turn his head away. Yesterday I left the dinner in the kitchen to cool down and gave his bottle - he drank it all and then had his dinner which he liked.
Hope you are able to figure it out - its a minefield and I still doubt myself sometimes even though this is my second child. Good luckMFIT T2 Challenge - No 46
