  • I was doing so well, and now I have a 'problem'.

Alpha h show on at 9pm. Cleanser duo is still in stock - could get an extra 5% off via Quidco.........

It's the only thing that keeps my skin calm, been using other stuff (Elemis) for a week and my skin has gone all 'bumpy'.

My head says don't do it - use the other stuff you bought you idiot.

My heart says buy two, so you don't run out:D

The cleanser is the only thing I don't have................
    Scrappie:p

Which Brandh did you go into evilsquid? Not the Trafford Centre one surely. Last year they had loads of stuff left on their shelves for ages after Christmas.

market street! got there at 1pm and all that were left were the crackers i got (think people haven't twigged theres 12 posh choccies in the box) a tin of cookies and some random stuff. theres still 50% off philosophy but its now hidden away behind the column where the self service tills are!

"the Sephora run" sounds very decadent - made it sound like you're just bobbing over to US for the sole purpose of going there and coming straight back! I love Sephora and Ulta. Wish we had those stores here. Am in love with the Sephora by OPI lacquers I got for Christmas.

when i went over in aug (for my wedding!) i ended up in sephora buying stuff every day i was there, with the exception of my wedding day when i frequented Duane Reade for emergency tights lol. if i'd not dismissed the girl offering me a beauty insider card because i presumed a UK address wouldnt work i would have come away with the Benefit 500 point perk i spent so much ($1 = 1 point. no bonus points like boots. i spent LOADS).

i visited the San Francisco store at least 3 times on my honeymoon (In my defence, san fran is boring and shopping became our something to do. think spending 5 days in london running round shopping in fab stores and coffee in fab indie cafes and wonderful parks and museums then coming to manchester/liverpool right after for the same amount of time).
  • today i bought the Christina Aguilera perfume set which was on offer in boots. With my staff discount it was about £11.50 though and came with a bag and body lotion which I have put into my gift cupboard - just kept the perfume which I DID run out of the other day and IMO need. OH wasnt sure, he thinks it was a silly buy as I should be using up body sprays first :o totally not going to happen. I NEED perfume.

I do have 2 outs though. Both icky Avon stuff I had in a box. One was a red lip gloss - WNBA as it was too sticky. The other was Avon face cleansing pads which again WNBA as they just didnt do much and didnt smell great.

  • I went into town this evening and there was stuff on the offer shelves in Boots but even through I had time for a quick 5 minutes I ddn't go in. Very proud of myself...hopefully it will be gone tomorrow as need to walk right past not once but twice tomorrow....
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales

I'm here to confess (and ask for forgiveness:o) - you see I used to read this thread with a bit of horror, some amusement but overall a really smug feeling that this was a problem I certainly didn't have - that was until I cleared out some cupboards at the weekend. Now in my defence some of the stuff has been gifts but it's just at a ridiculous level now so, I'm hoping that by laying it out for all to see it will humiliate me into using all of it before I buy any more.

so - opened and in use I currently have:
    Aveda Shampure (huge 1 litre)
    2 sure roll on deodorants
1 dove roll on deodorant (it was rubbish, should really chuck it)
    1 sure aerosol anti perspirant
    9 OPI nail lacquers
    2 Nail whiteners
    2 Nailtiques nail hardeners
    2 bottles nail varnish removers
    1 John Frieda hair mousse
1 John Frieda volume hair treatment
1 John Frieda simply blonde shampoo
    1 Pantene volume conditioner
    1 palmers body gloss
1 L'oreal sublime bronze facial tanner
1 L'oreal sublime bronze body tanner
1 molton brown vitamin a shower wash
    2 molton brown handwashes
    3 molton brown hand lotions
    1 Aveda foot cream
    1 Gold Bond hand cream
    1 Gold Bond body moisturiser
    1 Suave body moisturiser
1 Garnier intensive body moisturiser (another rubbish buy)
1 Eliz Arden visibile diff facial cream
    1 Clinique overnight turnaround cream
    1 L'Occitane eye balm
    2 L'Occitane hand washes
    2 revlon colourstay lip colours
    1 burts bees lip salve
1 bottle of Clinique foundation (for absolute emergencies - I don't do make up!)
1 bottle Hermes 24 fauborg perfume

and then there is the unopened stash:eek:
    6 sure antiperspirant aerosols
    3 sure roll on deodorant
    1 Aveda footcream
1 huge Tresemme 24 hour shampoo
1 huge Tresemme 24 hour conditioner
    2 L'Occitane handwashes
    2 Molton Brown handwashes
    1 Molton Brown hand lotion
    1 Clinique eye cream
    1 Clinique hair straightener lotion
    1 John Frieds blonde shampoo
6 (set) of nails Inc polishes
    3 revlon colorstay lip colours
    1 burts bees lip salve
    1 Gold Bond Body Lotion
    1 Sarah Chapman eye cream
1 Sarah Chapman age repair serum
    1 Sarah Chapman facial cream
3 Molton Brown shower gels (sample size)
    1 Molton brown body scrub
    1 Molton Brown shower gel
    1 Coconut body butter
    1 bottle Elie Saab perfum

and the final shame - 36 hotel sized bars of soap.

Good lord - how I could have scoffed at anyone else I do not know (hangs head in shame). I also have £50 of boots points waiting to be used and £130 of Aveda points - I think I will be saving them for a very long time.....

not even sure if I should confess my 8 tubes of Crest whitening toothpaste and 3 boxes of whitening strips that I can't leave the US without!

Honestly, aside from not being able to turn up at work with bagfuls of Boots stuff, thus revealing why I was late

This was me, and ended up stashing them somewhere at work before I got to my desk and thought I'd 'collect them' at lunch time, only someone pinched them  ended up having to go through CCTV cameras to track them down, not good £45 of real money and £50 of points, I was a tad upset.
Got them back but it was stressful, now think I may take most of it back once I've had a proper look through it.

  • I'm trying to save up for a sephora run in summer now so I'm trying to be good. I've decided to try and get a beauty insider card if i can use a uk address on it and stop at the 500 point perk lol.

if you get a nice member of staff they will put it through with the store zip code and address. As long as they have an email address they will be quite happy - at least that was what they offered to do for me. I didn't take one but I do have a Walgreens, CVS and Chico's fashion cards now so I can get discount. My purse that I keep for dollars has nearly as many loyalty cards as my sterling one!

  • UU - Toni and Guy Curl Balm. Discontinued so can't buy again :(.
Went into Superdrug today and managed to get out without buying anything. This makes my willpower sound really good but it was helpful that my friend rang while I was in there and we arranged to meet for coffee straightaway - saved me getting tempted!!
