Ladies,
Sarah*a, evilsquid & Pickle, Nice to read about your Boots hauls, although you've been very good! Mum reported that she got me some Sanctuary & Champneys, not sure which sets though. i had a good trawl through the aisles when I was over last week so I knew what to tell her to look out for. It does make you wonder just how much of the stuff Boots sell at full price. It seems everyone is on the game.Do nothing in haste; look well to each step; and from the beginning think what may be the end - Edward Whymper0 -
An In Asda Young skin eye makeup remover, got this to try as its only a quid!
As I have been at work today I couldnt get to Boots so this is probably a good thing!0 -

its the 3for2 that gets them. the first year they did it we all thought we were on to a right winner, now EVERYONE knows all boots gifts are 3for2. we all look at boots to see if they are good value sets anyway so we all know when we get a boots gift for xmas and my first thought if i received one has always been "was i the free one then?". i wouldn't give a boots gift to anyone because i wouldn't want them to think that i was too cheap to pay full price for their gift or i didn't care enough about them to look around for a more personal gift than just raiding boots.
however for things like secret santa and silly stocking fillers its brilliant. i don't know anyone that bought full price gifts over about £5 in there this year.0 -
1 UU - Wilko Dreamy Body Spray.
WNBA, it had a lovely scent but I don't like aerosols and it didn't last at all!0 -
Forgot about another UU - Simple wipes. I've almost made up for my 7 INs!0

Thankfully for my purse our lot don't think like that! They applaude a bargain and get better gifts for the same amount of money. Not everyone can afford the premium brands or even mid-level high street brands - as much as they might covert them - so being able to get even a small gift set for the same price as the basic 'store' brands is very much appreciated in our family.
I agree smellies (and not just from Boots - M&S/Debs/BHS etc) are fairly impersonal but they are also a safe bet - everyone washes (hopefully) and having something that smells nice while you are doing it is a bonus.

So ..... did you go???
YesSurprised myself as the weird Boots dreams were quite anxiety-ridden. But figured I go past it on my way to work, so it would be easy to take a very quick detour to see if it's busy or not.
So, it opened at 10am (I nearly considered going to Piccadilly Circus or Oxford street for 8am and quickly decided I am way too lazy for that one!) So I was there about 9.50... no-one else about. Was all very civilised - there was another 4 people there by the time they opened the doors (and a few more downstairs I think - it's over two floors in a shopping centre.) So nipped in, saw a few things on the shelves on the top floor, set the alarms off when I then went to get a basket from next to the doors...:o:rotfl:
Then wandered downstairs to the gift area there where there were a few more people looking - I think I saw one guy with a huge bagful of stuff so I assume he was selling them on... other than that, no pushing, no-one being rude, I was pleasantly surprised.
So, not Ins as they are all presents for over the year and not for me, but got;
2 x FCUK signature boxes, £6.25 each
1 x Gok set £5
1 x Royal Jelly set £4
1 x Extracts bag £4
1 x rose shaped bath petals £1
I stopped there because I figured that was enough, I was late for work (oops! and so also couldn't turn up with lots of obvious shopping, what I had I could fit in other bags!), I didn't intend to spend much and I didn't want to overdo it on the present side and end up giving everyone the same gift for the next 2 years!
I have been tempted to see if they had any more FCUK boxes left later as they seem a good deal - but then I wonder if they're really such a good deal, and they'll probably be sold out by now anyway. Am meeting a friend in Oxford Street shortly anyway so may wander past Boots and stick my nose in the door in case they have fresh stock left - there was no Sanctuary or No7 in my store - but I think I'm happy with what I got and have saved a small fortune on birthday presents.
And while I was there I resisted looking through the rest of the shop for things for me, so am quite proud of myself really. :-)

i failed on that part! wandered past our benefit counter and saw it strewn with makeup bags containing full size they're real and girl meets pearl. very nearly did a U turn to ask what they were! i need more erase paste and powderflage so if it was a GWP i don't think id have walked away from it. DH storming off to game was all that stopped me!0 -

Honestly, aside from not being able to turn up at work with bagfuls of Boots stuff, thus revealing why I was late, I think the other thing that kept me in check is I know what my OH's face is going to be like when I bring this lot home, let alone any more of it! :rotfl:0 -

i was on the receiving end of a "you are NOT buying any more of that make up stuff unless you used up what you have!!!" rant last night. told him thats what i was already doing with all of your help, i don't think he believes me :rotfl:
when i had 3 beauty boxes (i know!) all i got was "you what?? ANOTHER ONE????? how many of these things do you even need??"
I'm trying to save up for a sephora run in summer now so I'm trying to be good. I've decided to try and get a beauty insider card if i can use a uk address on it and stop at the 500 point perk lol.0
