Must admit I think I've definately bought things thinking I'd run out of certain items when I already had plenty - sorry about the length of post! Plan of action is to tackle the smaller sizes and older products first, make some headway and make sure nothing goes past its best and has to be chucked away - let the fun begin. Looking forward to extra pampering. :j

Hello ladies, I hope you're not too battered by the rain and gales! Have reconciled myself to arriving at work looking like a drenched wreck clutching a broken umbrella. Roll on spring.

Anyway, some good news in the form of UUs and some bad news for which I am holding evil squid responsible.

The UUs:

Cath Kidston hand lotion, small tube, rose flavour, from handbag. WIBA? No. It looks cute but wasn't very effective. Also have monstrous hand cream stash to get through.

Clinique moisture surge. Think it was Glamour freebie from a year ago, so a decent size for a sample. WNBA, it didn't make my skin feel moisturised at all. It sank in fast (good), kept my skin matt for longer than other creams (also good) but made it feel tight plus no SPF. Where was the surge of moisture???

Small bottle of mandarin essential oil. Oh I'm pleased with myself! Does anybody else ever buy essential oil then think "er, what shall I do with this?" or am I the only mug taken in by the aromatherapy industry? Anyway, it had been sitting there for ages and apart from a few half hearted attempts at wafting it on pillows was pretty much unused. Then I had a wheeze. Remembered that I'd bought these wardrobe scenting things from TK Maxx last spring that had of course lost their scent. Decided to try dripping the mandarin oil on them, leaving them to dry then using them to scent the wardrobe. Worked brilliantly! So looking forward to similarly repurposing a bottle of lemongrass essential oil when the mandarin wears off. Haven't felt so smug since I used Boots royal jelly shower gel to clean the loo.

Now the lapse. Evil squid, this is your fault for telling us about Debenhams and their beauty bargains. So of course I look on the Debo's website 'just to see what's there' and realise cannot live without reduced Bliss lemon & sage shower gel and body butter set, especially since set costs only £2 more than buying shower gel singly. More shower gel! But I have some way to go before I'm rivalling Kiplingmonkey!

Yep, it was a problem with the original formula - it was withdrawn while they sorted it and should now be fine. I've found that it does still have a slight tendancy to separate but a good shake sorts it out. Your Avon rep should have offered to get you either a replacement product or a refund, really. It is without question my HG foundation - I love the fact that you can vary the amount of coverage so well with it too.

Yeah I was giving this some thought as well and can go along with this and some of the other comments as well. I can see it working for closed groups where products can be easily tracked and tailored to the target group. I really like the idea of nail art lessons and something like this would go down a storm with some of my youth groups. I often get specialists in to provide lessons on skin care, make up and the nail art would be fab.

Hi all, I have such a weakness for toiletries and firstly I don't need anymore and secondly I want to declutter. Even today I bought my fav shampoo and conditioner Redken colour extend. It was on special £15 for both which is a bargain. I bought 2 sets though ( one as a birthday present for my sister in July). I know I really have to use up my products so this is what I've been doing: using up non favourite moisturisers on my neck. Facepacks etc on Sundays. I gave all my bubble baths to my Mum as I don't use them. Used my fake tan over the Xmas holidays and will continue for the build up to weekends (just counted and I'm ashamed to say I have 7 bottles of the stuff! All different types of St Tropez. I do 90% of my shopping online however I am going to avoid qvc. It's such a hard sell. Btw my fav moisturiser is elemis pro collegen marine cream. I think elemis is on qvc this weekend so I'm going out. Anyway I'm a newbee so I will be picking up tips from all you guys in a bid to save money, look beautiful and de-clutter.

Dad calculated that on the number of bottles he knew of (that's way less that half of them!) I would have to be the size of a humpback whale and shower twice each day to use them up this yr!!!!!!
