I am trying to keep up the positivity, GA's today 8 single nail polishes and two nail polish gift sets (gifts from previous birthdays-unopened) each of 4 polishes, 1 eyeshadow. Off to charity shop shortly. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

I've found sorting my stash out so all the like items are grouped together has helped because i actually have a visual reminder of just how much i have. makes it seem more "real" than just having a list and knowing i have a few or knowing i have lots of stuff.
Yes. I did that last spring. Good reminder ES: I probably need to do it again now!!!!0 -

Catslovelycats sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it. As you say the timing of everything IS exceptional, but if it's your splurge that's getting you down now particularly then are there any of the items you've ordered that could be given as presents? Alternatively can you see if the order could be cancelled? It might be that the burst of positivity you would get from that now would be just the boost you need.....
I have a couple of IN's to report - been wandering round Boots this morning - got chatting to one of the security chaps in there (they were busy moving some of the vast pile of 75% reduced FCUK bags to the front of the store....everything else was still at 50% though!) and he was saying that the rumour through the staff is that there won;t be a 75% sale this year....but that was what was said last year too and it still happened! Masses and masses of Sanctuary stuff, loads of Dove sets, and lots of the S&G set with the Breakfast Scrub & Hand Food still there so I have planned my attack in case the 75% DOES kick in. It seems more likely that they will do what they have done with the FCUK and reduce the price an item at a time, clearing the stuff they have most of. I resisted everything apart from one item that there was only one of on the shelf - an Olay set with a Cleanser, an SPF moisturiser and a folding shopping bag - as it was down to £5 and I have no day moisturiser in my stash at the moment I thought that was a good deal. For those of you who have Boots mailing vouchers with £2.50 off £10 or more on healthcare, you can combine this with the same voucher from the ACM to get 2 x £2.50 off....I would suggest your purchases need to be over £10 once the second voucher has come off though for it to apply. (I've also just noticed on the receipt that "Healthcare" includes Dental - and there is a 50p off Smile 100ml toothpaste on the ACM at the moment too...the Total Care one is currently reduced to £1......!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good idea Essex, but I am so looking forward to getting the smelly box delivered! I now I'll enjoy using the items more than I feel cross with myself for buying them - if that makes sense. And I looked at my spending money and I have (or rather had!) more than enough left to cover the cost of the naughty things, so I at least am not overspending (thankfully I got a bit of money for Christmas!). A year ago I would have spent way more than I did today and paid no attention to how much spending money I had to play with - so I guess there's another positive...0

PS Essex
I ignored the rest of your post as the temptation to think about Boots sale items would be too strong!0 -
i think i might try and sort my make up out today. i know i have 2 palettes of nearly 3 year old Dior eyeshadow in there that were never used up properly because i deemed it my "lucky" eyeshadow (i know!). I've already had to chuck the eye liner pot bit of it cz that went manky a long time ago.
i fell into the trap a few times of "i'll save it for best because it was expensive" and its just sat there unused. i bought the £60 Dior Tailleur bar last xmas. i bet its had 4 uses since because I'm terrified of using it but i don't want to get it out one day and find it completely gone off or broken.
i read the bobbi brown "organise" fact sheet yesterday from her website and she says outright bin everything thats over 2 years old, anything you haven't touched in 6 months and anything thats a crazy colour you just won't wear again.0 -
What does ACM stand for? x0

Hi,
Can I join this challenge please?
Had a sort out of toiletries in October 2011 and got rid of some/donated to meeting my mum goes to for raffle pressies. Still have loads more to use, which are now in a double cupboard rather than the large cardboard box.
I have started a sealed tin so each full size toiletry I use up and don't buy replacement I add £1, small size 50p, and sachets/freebies in mags 10p. I got this from reading one of this challenges last year, so thought would help in saving for a possible spa weekend with my sister and at the same time reduce the amount of toiletries I have.Pay off all your debts by xmas 2013 #71 - £210.84 paid (BoM - £-100/130, CC1 (L) £-1831.58/1,866.00, o/d £30 + several others) - Debts paid in full 2013 x 1
