Think I am addicted to this forum lol

Well you have the weight under control and have no problems on that score and see the 7lbs works ! lol as you only have 7lbs to go :T

The spending diary does work and what a great Birthday gift.I wish I got that rather than stuff like horrible mugs :( I know I should be grateful but they were so bad I didnt even try to sell them on Ebay which is a first for me.:rotfl:

Can I ask you on your SOA where did you put animal food.Chicken pellets etc as I am not sure where to put it down. Also your pet insurence seems really good value.Mine is £25.00 a month approx for 1 dog ! Cant change as he has an ongoing condition which I am in the process of getting them to pay for which is £26.00 a month. So am dreading the new premium which I know will rocket next year :(

    Thank you in advance:)

Nicely reminded:D I forgot all the pet food, bedding etc! I suppose they could be added to the groceries section.

There are other things I forgot on the SOA, then remembered and have now forgotten again:o

For me the SOA was to mainly about having somewhere to view everything in one place. We don't run out of money each month although I know we aren't probably getting the best deal everywhere so will be changing what we can. I'm going to call the oil company after work tomorrow to see if I can reduce the monthly amount as we're slightly in credit. We do have a village oil syndicate that we could be part of, which would possibly reduce each delivery by up to £40. I'm working towards this but right now can't trust myself to keep enough aside to pay a £300 order when I need it. DD is a safe option right now despite being less cost effective.

Ideally i'd like to be in a position with all my utilities whereby I could pay a monthly amount into a savings account to remain until the annual bill is due. My mum operates like this. it's something to aspire to once the debt is clear;)
Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end:)

I've just started working with pots to save monthly for annual spends, it works out about 10% of my take home so I have to cutback elsewhere, but it's going to be worth it when I dot Havel panic because the car tax is due etc :-)

Could you set aside £20 a month to start with and build it up as you learn to budget in other places?

You're bleeding me dry woman:rotfl: First it's the emergency fund and before I've started that you've got me saving another £20 for NEXT YEAR'S BILLS:rotfl:

Joking aside, that's a fab idea. I've got about 6 little savings pots linked to one of my banks so will start with that. It'll help towards the bills as you say. Especially the shock of remembering DS needs a £150 bus pass every term....Oops...something else I forgot on the SOA....No wonder I can't work out why we have no money left:rotfl:

Sorry I reminded you about all that stuff as its so expensive !

Are you sure you are not me lol .We are also in the village oil syndicate and if you can join it is worth the saving. If I was setting up a monthly payment (which I should really) I would go with Goff they are nearly always used for our sydicate as they are the cheapest and they will price match.
I have just used £352 worth of oil in 6 weeks  So are getting a wood burner installed in the next month. So I am hoping it will pay for its self within the year.(we will get free logs just got to beg borrow or steal a chain saw):)

Good day at work. Had an old school friend round for cuppa when I got home, to discuss our DDs joint Bday disco coming up. Food/drink and decs all arranged, now just gotta spend some sourcing the best deal.:)

Had a tasty dinner of HM chicken noodles and prawn crackers. Yum Yum, tasted just like a take-away chowmein:) . I have enough chicken left over for fajitas tomorrow and stock ready for carrot, bacon and lentil soup on wed. V pleased to still have a joint of gammon and 2 packs of bacon (unused when DH went fishing) in the fridge. Pizzas and breaded chicken in the freezer. I've got plenty in the cupboards to go with these bits and although it isn't the most varied collection, it's actually enough to last til AFTER payday.

Going to Dad's Fri eve with some more of the family for a Burn's Night supper. He's Scottish and although it's actually on Wed (I think) Fri is the best day to get together. Dad's got the haggis and some sausages for those of us who don't like it. I'm doing the veg and my sis is doing dessert.

Zumba tomorrow, not really in the mood right now but tomorrow is another day...Think it's because I have indigestion and can't imagine jumping around:rotfl:

Also got the police coming round tomorrow eve to discuss DH's shotgun licence:eek:Never had the police round before and feel a bit wary, even though I know the purpose:o

Another good day at work, despite the double Y11 maths lesson; sin & cosine rules are a bit boring :p

Feel bad for not walking the dog after work but it has been tipping down all day and not only did I not want to turn out in the rain, I hate wet dog smell in the house:(

Bit of a disaster on the dinner front. Didn't have the Fajitas as I didn't have the mix. Had planned to get it in Mr M while using the petrol station there for the cheapest fuel and the shoe repairs inside the store to put heels on my bargain Primarche shoes that are more like skates and have caused me to slip over twice:eek: false economy there! My idea of killing 3 birds with one stone was quashed when DH took the car that needed the fuel, to the station .....fajitas will be tomorrow now:)

Made soup with the stock already prepared, apart from not realising I didn't have enough carrots left, to the amount of stock, despite the lentils and bacon to make it a soup-like consistency. It tasted fab but was more of a broth, which as you can imagine didn't do a lot to fill us up. Bulking it out with part baked baguettes wasn't much better:(

Reading all that it hasn't been such a great day:rotfl:at least I have my bed to look forward to.

Oh, the nice policeman came round and DH was grateful not to be deemed a psycopath and has passed the shotgun license interview with flying colours. This has since caused a disagreement as DH's mate has contacted him about the 'Annual Gun Show' at the end of Feb, where DH thinks he'll pick up a bargain gun. He seems to have forgotten that the gun and even the license weren't part of the equation until he's got his bonus. You may remember, I foolishly said we could afford to do the license last week and he's now jumped on the bandwagon to get all the gear. I'm really annoyed:(
