Gonna get there.....

Ok, so maybe not anytime soon but New Year, new attitude and so on........Thinking the positive title will definitely spur me on;)

Having done my snowball calculator, which although not entirely accurate due to the fact that the suggested payments for Jan were already made in Dec and the possibility *crosses fingers* that DH gets a bonus at the end of Jan. It would appear that we are in a good position to throw every spare penny at our debt and be rid of it in 9 months.

Hence the reason for the diary...The debt should be clear well within the year and is at a level where we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, rather than seeming so unmanageable that we are sorely tempted to add to it. Been there, done that.

Looking forward to having this space to off load my thoughts and feelings, Positive and negative. I can guarantee there will be both along the way.

Good luck up, sounds like you have had your lightbulb moment. I wish you all the luck for your future
  • Good luck HP. I know exactly how you feel as I had my kick up the rear yesterday, and I've resolved to be debt free this year. Provided I can keep up the overtime without it killing me, I should make it by July...

Inspired by some of the posts on here, I checked my online bank account, and 'found' £2.29 - used it to pay a little off one of my CCs - every little helps :D

Have been lurking (with the occasional post) for a good while now but now the end is in sight my attitude is definitely the right one. I am amazed at the wonderful support shown in this forum, so here's hoping my journey is made easier but that much, at least.

So........ after almost deciding not to go out tonight, (sore throat, head /body ache, caught from the children who at the same time as me coming down with it, have finally managed to get shot, what a coincidence) I am bathed and back in comfy pj's til it's time to get the glad rags on.

Off to a very MSE house party with a few other families, taking the left over booze, nibbles provided. I figure remaining dosed up/drunk enough seeing the New year in is the very first part of my DFW journey 2012.

Happy New Year all. Enjoy, whatever your plans...

New Year, let the new approach begin...Had quite a money saving morning so far due to only just surfacing. Just jumped on the scales and was horrified to find I now need to lose 11lb and not 4. If only it was as easy to gain £ as it is lb.

Have decided to reward myself with every lb lost to put a £ against my debt, here's hoping......

Back to work tomorrow for DH and Wed for me, so have made an effort to get up at a much more reasonable time. Jobs for today: Weigh myself to see if I can put a £ in my weight loss pot, take the tree down, clean out the chickens, make soup from the stock I made last night, tidy up and lastly *sighs* try to get my head back into work mode having been off since 16th Dec, this last one will not be easy......

All jobs done including a 10 mile bike ride with Dh and DD. Took the tag-along so burned off a few extra calories. Weighed myself and was chuffed to see 1lb down, so that's £1 in the pot.

The only thing I haven't managed to do is get my head back into work mode, but for now, I'm quite happy in denial....

Been up since 6.30 for the first time since 16/12/11 as DH went back to work today. Thought I'd better make him a cuppa to balance out the guilt of being able to go back to bed. Have checked bank, cc balances etc and all is ok, not fantastic as we'll end up into the overdraft again but balances are definitely on the way down.

Jobs for today: Pay in £15 cheque sent for kids at Christmas, collect £20 from next to new clothes shop, where some of my items have sold, do a mini top-up shop, go through freezer as I've forgotten the meal plan and finally, prep for work tomorrow. Grrrrr.....
