Crikey, where has the time gone? It's been just over two weeks since I last posted a diary entry.:o
The absence has been mainly due to DD's Bday and subsequent disco but that hasn't been the only thing going on. I've actually been quite busy on the MSE front too.
The Bday and disco were a huge success and enjoyed by all. Did learn a couple of important lessons in the process. The first was to check invitation wording if the other parents have the job of making invitations (Didn't think I'd need to point out that we needed contact numbers for guests to rsvp) The result being that we had to cater for the 80 guests we sent invitations to, despite not having a confirmed number, or even ball park figure.
The other thing was that I did the lion's share of the purchasing as it just happened to be simpler for me to book various thing we needed:the hall, disco and wholesale food. It wasn't an issue until it came to sharing the cost. I halved what I had spent and gave the other party a total. They were to take off half of what they alone spent and give me the balance. I think they mistook this and took off what they had paid. I didn't notice at the time but now feel gutted as even though it was less that £10, I did a lot of driving round and researching. I won't mention it but it's a lesson learned:o
Other than that we've had a good half term. Took DD Bday money spending Mon, visited a local mansion and museum on Tues, only paying £2 for an Egyptian hieroglyphics class at the museum:money:
Had hair done using a Groupon voucher. Although I'm not V happy with the result. I was trying to go lighter having been a plum/purple black for a good while. I was told my only real option was to have bleach highlights, then toner. I went for this but the result of the bleach stripping the colour has come out quite auburn:( Also, as it was a half head, I completely overlooked the fact that the dark colour would still be noticeable under the shorter layers. The result is a multitude of different colours and me not wanting to be associated with possibly having intentionally gone for this look:rotfl: So................I'm popping over to see my friend who's a hair dreser, as she thinks I can get a light brown semi from the SM and tone it all down a bit. Will update a progress report later:rotfl:
CCs are all now under 7% :j So although the balance has just been shifted, it'll cost a lot less to pay back. The new Hfax and Nwest cards have just over 4k each @ 0% and the Bcard has £2700 @6.9%. Tsco and N/wide have just over £1k each but I am planning to pay these off within £500, when we get paid. DH's bonus will come at the end of March so hoping we can strp a bit more off then. The new loan is also up and running, so all fine in terms of repayments. The plan will then be to either get the Bcard down with payments, or pay off some of the 0% card and transfer the Bcard balance. not sure which was is best as gotta weigh up interest and transfer fee.
Suppose I'd better get up as looking after my niece while sis works and my DD's aren't awake yet! Also gotta get to my friends around 10. Hygienist @2.30 then back to do a bit of housework before coking dinner, dropping DS to work and going round Mum's for a girls' night, which will now turn into, Operation put my hair right:rotfl:Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end

Hair update...Arrived at friend's who instantly said, 'it's not as bad as I thought' although this was nice to hear, it was soon followed by me saying 'So your suggestion of buying an off the shelf colour isn't going to be an option?', followed by friend saying, 'No'
....She then went on to suggest I call the salon to explain how unsatisfied I am and see if they can sort it out.....So after much deliberation, not being able to think of anything worse than the confrontation, albeit over the phone, I took the plunge....the manager wasn't able to speakk to me so i arranged a call back...more time to stew over it:o
Received said callback whilst driving to the hygiene app, so couldn't call back until afterwards....The manager was really understanding of the problems and basically said that the bottom line was that if I wasn't fully happy, they'd put it right without charge. I guess that's what all good salons should do but I was so expecting a defensive attitude towards the stylist and at the very least a cold reception on being asked to return to show them, for a rectification at their discretion. They are able to offer me an appointment tomorrow at 1, which fits in perfectly with our other plans and they have allowed enough time for me to have the underneath highlighted too, making the overall look more uniform, rather than the skunk/badger :rotfl:
Feel a whole lot better and can't describe just how much it's stressed me out not feeling comfortable with a colour that noone in their right mind would ever ask for:rotfl:Just feel like a need a stiff drink tonight now, so have popped to the Coop to buy (on offer) some gin...and tonic water!! Think i deserve it:)Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end

Stressedsteph...Now there's a wake up call if ever there was one! I hadn't thought to look what my balance was this time last year but now you mention it, it's almost exactly the same...meaning we have got nowhere, basically!
I did know that in my heart of hearts but it goes to show what happens if you continue to spend as you repay. It has made me realise that I am in a position to sort this, almost all the debt is on 0% so before things get any worse, I need to get rid!
Card payments taken care of this month, the main card has been overpaid. Food shopping is manageable and my health kick is in full swimg...onwards and upwards!
P.s Tonight I managed a half mile non stop frontcrawl swim, followed by a 50m cooldown in 23 mins after a break of at least 8 weeks. I'm pleased with that. Aiming for 6 more next week to get it up to 1k.

Wow that's an amazing swim HP, so glad you haven't gone backwards. Have you set yourself any mini goals for achieving debt freedom this year? Even tiny ones help
I think it must be compulsory to have at least 2 LBMs, I feel like I've just had another one myself recently

Hi all, I've had, quite possibly, the worst week I can remember. My brother-in-law died suddenly at home last Sunday evening. He was 34. Everything's up in the air especially as the Coroner has called for an inquest.
I hope by getting back on here I can regain some focus and keep busy.Everything is ok in the end. If it's not ok, then it's not the end
