good morning all and happy birthday Jackie0
PennyPincher I hope your sister gets well soon, and anyone else who isn't feeling too well.
My cold is finally beginning to shift, so I've been busy this morning. Living room tidied, DW emptied, packed lunch made, 1 set of sofa covers in the WM, bathroom cleaned, desk tidied and paperwork filed away - go me !!
Last day in the office this week, am on a training course in London tomorrow and friday. Have lots to do, but I need my boss to be in to get on with the majority of it and he was off sick yesterday.
Am going to start making a real effort to shift some weight. I've tried most diets in the past but ended up getting fed up after about 2 weeks, also doesn't help that I have a very unhealthy attitude to food and tend to go in binge / starve cycles. Meal plans are helping with the evening meals, and breakfast is ok, so I'm doing ok when I'm at home, it's just at work,or when no-one else is around that I sneak that odd cake / cookie / doughnut or 2 in.
Hope everyone has a good day. Hugs to you allDebts: Mum £3923 0% APR0 -
Morning all
PennyPincher hugs for you and your family especially your dsis
Bargain Rzl - I know what you mean - i used to live in Bermondsey about 20 years ago. This was during a time of gang violence and was known as the Murder Mile (which stretched from the elephant and castle to rotherhithe encompassing peckham, deptford and brixton somehow)
just got back from dropping dd at her breakfast club - we discussed the merits of nail extensions and favourite hairstyles which was a bit one way as sadly for my three dds the girly gene skipped my generation of the family. We concluded however that nail extensions were probably not appropriate for a 10yo - well i did anyway
Yesterday there was a cultural evening at school so we had a free feed there and tonight dd is having tea with a friend so i shall have something from the freezer for my tea.
nothing much planned except to catch up with three days of moggins' flylady list and do some paperwork. Will also hunt for the elusive bottom of the laundry basket - wish me luckI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
It's a very frosty -3 here this morning and I've just cranked the heating up a notch.
Everything is covered in frost, including the geeses and moorhens! I thought there was something wrong with them first thing as they all looked as if they had been sifted with flour but they had their baths and it all washed off. Phew. Gave them extra breakfast to help get them through the day.
I've not caught up with the daily for the last couple of days so congratulations to all with good news and I hope things improve soon to those for whom life isn't going so well just now.
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday JackieO, have a fantastic day :bdaycake:
Big Hugs PP to you and your sister
Snowy, good to see you back, here's something I hope makes you smile
I'm home for the rest of the week now :j :j :j :j :j :j
Today I'll blitzing the bits of the flat I haven't already blitzed, have to stay home to wait for a delivery, hope it comes soon as I could do with some shopping.
Then I intend to spend the rest of the week snuggled up on the sofa with my special someone, watching old films, surfacing only to make a hot drink and nab a Rich tea biccie, the new McVities lights were half price (31p) in Sainsburys last night and the sugar levels were low enough for me to allow myself one or two
Time to get myself moving
((((hugs)))) to all who would like oneMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead
Proud to be a chic shopper

How true! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hugs to everyone who needs them and PennyPincher's sister, Snowy (I hope the mist clears, I know what you mean!) and BR - scary when that happens nearby isn't it?
Worked till 9pm last night, went home and then did another half an hour. Now back at my desk
But meeting up with my first ever online into real world meet at lunchtime - oooh! Very excited. Then back down to sunny (!) South West before back again for SaturdaySo, have to catch up on work hours if you know what I mean.
Still enjoying having a tidy bedroom in London, thanks for inspiration Moggins....even though I'm not reading the flylady thread it's keeping me organised!
Right...to work I go.
Have good days all

Morning all,
Happy Birthday JackieO
((((((((((((((((Hugs BargainRzl)))))))))))))))))))) Lets just hope it's a temporary blip for you. My area seems to go up and down like a yo-yo
DH has a stinker of a cold and is staying in bed. He's not one for getting man flu so I know he must be feeling rotten. DD's illness has now erupted into a full blown cold too so it definitely looks like I have her off school for the rest of the week. I really wanted to see my friend this morning but it looks like I am stuck indoors againI'm starting to get cabin fever!
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Good morning to all my cyber pals on here today, and thank you for all my lovely happy birthday wishes . Math you are a charmer aren't you ,it's the first time I've ever been called a blonde bombshell;)
I am glad you are settling in O.K. Rzl, and I hope that your 'meet' goes well on Saturday.
I have 'met' so many lovely folks on here over the past couple of years that I feel really privileged to be part of this friendly group.
I have learnt a lot of info. and as the saying goes 'your never too old to learn'
In my case I am now the wrong side of 65 so thats quite old in comparison to you sprightly young things .I have had some lovely letters and support through some of my more difficult times, and to know that there are folk out there wishing one well through ones troubles is wonderful. I may never physically meet you all (some I already have in Blackpool) but I still think of you all as my friends .
I intend to have a nice big helping of my youngest DD's chocolate cake that she makes for everyone who has a birthday in the family .
I am going out to dinner tonight with my two beautiful daughters who have been terrific to me over the past few years and I shall tell them all about the different people that are on here and how nice they are . I have been up since 7.00.a.m. (had a good night for a change) and the phone hasn't stopped ringing. Even my big brother rang me from France where he has lived for the past three years .
So it's only 8.20.a.m. and the day is looking good already. I have one of my SIL coming from Faversham to visit for a coffee this morning, then I am off round to my youngest DD's for lunch and a play on the floor with the Man in my life , namely my smallest grandson Michael who is 2 and a half .We shall have a good singalong as happy Birthday is his latest new song that he has leant. This afternoon I shall come home and put my feet up and then doll myself up and put a bit of slap on for my eldest DD picking me up tonight for a slap-up meal out .Life has been very good to me and I am a very lucky lady to have such a nice family and so many good friends . So thank you all for putting up with this 'old dear. I intend to raise a glass to you all tonight (I may be a little late posting tomorrow )Cheers everyone :j :j :j :j :j :j
(((hugs to all in need )))0 -
Happy Birthday JackieO :bdaycake:  It's my DS2's b'day too - he's 10.
Very frosty here in Worcester, I'm really hoping for snow tomorrow, we never get much.
My Mum's coming over today armed with a huge box of Meccano for DS2. Not sure what we're going to do yet. Have a good day OSers.0 -
Morning All
Happy Birthday Jackie0 and anyone else having celebrations.
Just managed to read Page1, so will add on bits from that and try to read on later.
Skystar - its so hard when you don't get on with OH's parents, if you need an impartial ear then PM me, but if I don't agree with you I would tell you and the reasons why (trying to see both sides). OH's trouble is he loves you both.
Anniebooklover it could easily be the way she is holding her pen/pencil, gripping it too hard. When I learnt shorthand (many moons ago) we had to learn how to hold our pen/pencil lightly to the point where the teacher could actually pull it out of our fingers while we were writing, it was a lot easier on the muscles of the fingers, if you want to know more than ask me.
Pennypincher Hope your sister is feeling a little better when you see her. It may mean she has to go straight on HRT. Some ladies feel that they are not as feminine when they "lose their child bearing bits", but HH never seems to find it so. She may need reassurance on this, but I am sure you will be there for her.
Hilstep - How did you keep your hands off the builder? He should have known and waited until you could get back and seal off the fireplaces.
Math I'm trying a different version, doing it in pages!
Keep warm
