My poor dog

So sorry for you, it is really hard having to have a pet put down. One of the things I always used to say to people who were struggling to make a decision about whether to have their pet put down is about quality of life. If you no longer feel that you pet has a good quality of life then it is time to say goodbye.
It also effects the vet/nurses involved in putting the pet down, I often had to go out the back and have a good cry after putting a pet to sleep.
Due to the sudden deterioration you made the right decision, take solace in the fact you did the right thing.

Enormous ((((((hugs))))))
You did the right thing, as there's no point to see the animal suffer. Your dog had a good life and a quick and painless death - you can't do much more for anyone than that.
I do know how hard it is, as I've lost several pets over the years (some at the vets and some naturally). I'm so very sorry.
Big ((((((hugs)))))) again.0 -
Well done, you put the needs of your pet first. xx*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Sorry about your dog, but you did the right thing. I had to do the same last year for a beloved animal and I was shocked at how much it affected me.still a SF nerd no.1:o
Quit date: 03/09/2006 ----> £1,000s not spent on tobacco(21/03/2010).:D0 -
Yes it really does affect you. My hubbie was putting on his shoes just now ready to take her for her last walk of the day
I asked what he was doing & his face just crumpled.
I know I've done the right thing, & I know she must have been in pain, but it just hurts so much seeing her place in the lounge empty. She has left us with so many happy memories though & I'm gonna get some piccies of her blown up.
Thanks again for so many kind words, I'm really touched. xNow thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker

I'm in tears reading that thread - it really is gut-wrenching losing a pet. You have been an extremely brave and responsible owner who did the hardest but absolutely right thing when the time came and you gave an animal a lovely and loving home for 12 years. I only wish there were more people like you owning animals - so sorry for your loss xxx:hello: :hello: :hello:0
