this might be a completely ridiculous question but if your not the into gambling what else is there do to in las vegas ?

So much. We know people who go 2 weeks a year most years and don't gamble at all...not even a few dollars in a slot...ever.

    Shopping
    Shows
    Great restaurants
General site-seeing around the hotel/casinos - you could spend several days just wandering around and seeing everything (and by 'everything' I mean the highlights...we have been probably 20 times and have not seen everything)
    Spas
    Pool time
    Thrill rides
Various excursions to places like Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, Zion National Park, Oatman, Laughlin, Mt Charleston, The Grand Canyon.
    ATV tours and similar.
    People watching (including bride spotting)

Hotels are cheap for what you get, generally...shopping, dining and leisure facilities are excellent and plentiful.

To us, one of the best things about Vegas is it offers so many different things to different people...our holidays to Vegas can be completely and utterly different to someone else on this board, because there's such a huge variety of things to do...we can go the same place, and get completely different things out of it. While, sure, that applies a lot of places...I do think almost anyone could find enough to do to fill a week, especially with side-trips to the GC, etc...but for those that are at all skeptical, booking a multi-stop trip would be an option...so a few nights in Vegas and a few nights somewhere else in the US to get a feel for the place.

Most people I know who didn't like Vegas didn't do any research before going and had no idea all the things at their doorstep...instead they came back saying 'there's nothing to do if you don't gamble'...which is just bonkers.

Our resident long-Vegas tripper, pebblesmax, would probably give you a list as long as she is of things to do in Vegas since they normally go for 4/5/6 weeks at a time...and while they do gamble, I don't think it's the focus of their trips by any stretch of the imagination.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Have you read the first few pages of this thread and follwed the links.

Agree with all of what Ferf says,to add you can get a very very nice hotel (some of the best in the world) at a fraction of the cost of most places in the world.

Cold Stone Creamery Groupon...but only good at Summerlin location...so maybe good for a stop on the way to or from Red Rock or something...we haven't been to Red Rock Casino for awhile...so may buy one on the basis we would have a reason to be in the area. It's not such a signficiant savings as to be worth driving 10 miles out of our way...but if it's (sort of) on the way somewhere else we're going...:)

    $5 for $10...

We booked tickets to Absinthe for our next trip. The code SOC20 still works for $20 off a ticket for the lower priced tickets.

Where did you book (Ticketmaster?)and where did the code come from?

yes, ticketmaster with their awful fees...and found the code somewhere - several had been posted here before so I just did a google search for Absinthe discount codes.

The link has outdated info in terms of the end of the run, doesn't include the obvious extension...but the code still works.

I am really hoping Absinthe gets extended again, but there's no sign of it yet. We could have gone last year, but it was a very new show then and the reviews were a bit mixed.

I agree!! April will be our third two-week trip to Vegas and we don't gamble at all. We go for the amazing hotels, pools, restaurants, cocktails, shopping and shows. We always have a 'to do' list of ideas and we still haven't seen / done everything we want to do in Vegas.
