VA sale has started... though if you can see where the savings are to be made, you're doing better than me. even at off-peak times of year "prices from £574" for LGW-LAS

    rrrrubbish!

i was hoping for something starting with a 4....

£574 is a decent price these days for a direct flight IMO, if you have 2000 miles it may come down in price a bit using Mand M

of course starting with a 4 would be better

One day in October, there were 12 in north las Vegas alone. 260 throughout the whole USA isn't so far off the mark.

Hope there is no new viewers to the thread letting these stats put them off.

it's not a bad price, shame the flights are for limited times of year:
    Dec 2012 - March 2013
    mid Oct - mid Nov

disappointed there's nothing for Easter or September.
and nothing for Miami at all, which we're looking at.

we do have about 24k miles each, so looking to use those at some point, maybe for LV in September. but even that needs 47500 miles, so to 'top up' will be £360 + £301 for the taxes.

It's usually not in any tourist areas. If you look on the crime website for LVPD, you can see where all the worst areas are. I'd post a link, but I'm on temporary wifi in a hotel and it keeps crashing. Maybe later.

Not sure what to make of that. I didnt post the original shooting post and then only repeated what was heard by millions on radio 2

I have been to the USA quite a bit since 1976 and it doesnt put me off but I do think something has to change

obviously the numbers are higher, but it's no different to London, Glasgow, Paris, wherever you'd care to mention... there are always 'unpleasant' stories and incidents happening.

But it's rarely in the highly-populated areas (the exception, for example, being that stabbing in the Oxford St sales last year), otherwise it's confined to (generalising) the undesirable parts of town where tourists/holiday makers would never go.

to have something like that put you off visiting LV would be a bit daft really. even with a few of the homeless bums knocking about the strip, i've never ever felt threatened or unsafe.

Obviously easily pleased. Until the whole fleet at LGW is improved this service is pants in all cabins.

Miles and cash is awful these days too:eek:

    Hi,

Just booked 4 nights in Vegas, staying at Aria 11th - 15th April 2013

6 Lads for a 30th birthday celebration - a few of us have been before, so i know my way around, but this is my first time with the boys. Any tips welcome.

Dont know a lot about the hotel, and have only been Dec and January before so im hoping to try the pools out for the first time if thats possible in April.

    Thanks

    Carl
