Mirage buffet is on Groupon today.

For $39, regularly $80, indulge in an unlimited dinner for two with beer and wine at Cravings Buffet at The Mirage, which Gayot calls a Top 10 Vegas Buffet. Subscribers can select dishes from 11 cooking stations, including sushi, seafood and barbecue.
    Why we love this deal
    • You'll save more than 50% on the regular price of your dinner, which includes unlimited beer and wine
    • Don't skip the dessert section, featuring hand-scooped gelato and dubbed "mouthwatering" by Fodor's
    • Cravings Buffet earns a 4-star rating from Urbanspoon users
    • Vouchers can be redeemed through mid-May -- buy extras for visiting family and friends

This is a good deal but the dinner buffet is only $29.99 normally so it is bumped up in price (prob to include alchohol) and I think it is usually in the MRB on a bogof

so annoyed as we would have absolutely gone for that if it it was still on when we're due to go back in March...have always wanted to try it, but just seems so pricey, especially if you're not a big fan of champagne.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I would also have loved to have tried it just for the experience as it always gets rave reviews. The champagne is the proper stuff such as Perrier Jouet and not cheap fizz.

However not being a lover of champagne, caviar, oysters, lobster, etc it wouldn't be worth it for me. The only things I would have liked are filet mignon and the rack of lamb. I might have tried it just for those.

Most people seem to stay there all afternoon so get their money's worth. We don't tend to linger over a meal, just hit and run, not matter how fancy the restaurant.

I saw that you enjoyed Gordon Ramsay's. What did you have and will you go back?

I'm really glad we went and I'm intending booking for next time so will book about 3 months ahead based on what you said. However I won't be having the banoffee tarts next time as they were a huge disappointment.

Just had an email from my son, he is enjoying his stay. He did mention how you go about getting free drinks at the bar while playing VP. I explained to him the procedure before he left but said last night it cost him $22.00. I asked what he did, his reply was the he and his mate ordered 2 drinks while playing with $20 each in machine. Drinks came and the bartender put the receipt and pen in a glass in front of him. He thought he had to pay that!!! So the bartender got a $22 tip!
Just goes to show that it can be a bit confusing for first timers. We have been asked a few times while playing what you have to do to get free drinks.

Hi, sorry - I'm a bit confused! We're going Saturday for the first time.... Do they give you a receipt for the total value of the drinks and you just tip them whatever you want?

We're doing a Grand Canyon tour whilst we're over there - how much should we tip? For the two of us it cost $790 (not very MSE I know but a fab trip for my bday) - should it be 10%? I just think thats quite a big tip??!

i think we tipped $20 between us (me and the OH) and the pilot seemed really chuffed with that - some people didn't tip at all.
  • Looking to book a package from Manchester for 1 week (as seems cheaper than 5 nights). Any recommendation which site usually has the best deals?
    Thanks

The new liquor store at McCarran should be handy, especially if its genuinely competing with the on strip stores
