We live in the midlands so we will save on airport parking and we are going for nearly 3 weeks, so the plan is to stay in LA for 4 or 5 days and then drive to vegas for 13 or 14 days then return for a LA the night before flying home, thought about hiring a car for a week then again at the end to get back to LA.

Is the A380 a good plane then ?

sounds like a good plan but as blindman says KLM do have a habit of changing schedules.

the A380 is the new double decker airliner, its the biggest plane of all, if it was all economy it would hold nearly 900 people

Hi guys, need a bit of help.

I'm going to Vegas on 17th November for a week, and am wondering what the weather will be like. I've heard people say they've been in December and have walked around in shorts during the day (obviously the temperature dips on the evening), but the temperature details on websites are saying max of 18, which I don't think is very warm? Just after a bit of advice as we don't have much of a luggage allowance :(

Also, we're thinking of buying a ipad when we're out there. Has anyone been there when Black Friday is happening and what are the chances of getting a good deal that day?? Or don't they really reduce things like that? Do the shopping outlets reduce much either or is it a nightmare to go that day?

    Thanks all:beer:

I was there for the 2nd week of November last year (and will be there 5-12th this year) and it was shorts & T-shirt weather during the day (early 20's) but came in chilly at night (10-12). It wasn't exactly woolly hat & mittens weather, but a jumper and long trousers/jeans etc. is a really good idea.

will you have a car? Probably the one on Charleston mentioned before is closest...but if it is just for drinks for the room it may be that you can find what you're looking for somewhere a bit closer like the ABC store in Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood...prices will be probably be a bit higher...but whether it would be worth going to WalMart instead may depend on whether you would have a car or not. Easier to haul stuff back in a car, depending on how much you're thinking you would buy.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

if it's just for drinks and snacks, there's also the 'new' big Walgreens out the front of Miracle Mile shops. Or if you prefer CVS, you can get the free monorail from Bellagio to Monte Carlo, where there's a CVS out the front - though that'd be a bit more of an effort :)

I keep forgetting about that big new Walgreens.

And just looking at the weather for next week and if the forecast is correct it's going to be about 10* F hotter than average!

  • Just a heads up for anyone considering staying at The Hard Rock. I've just heard from someone who has booked to stay there that they have a policy of no alcohol to be taken into rooms and are now cracking down on it. Apparently they have security guards searching guests luggage etc. to strictly enforce this rule! Due to it's location, this hotel was never on my consideration list anyway, but it's now blacklisted as far as I'm concerned.
