    now that I'm done crying.

It's probably a long-shot...but has anyone done any geocaching around Vegas?

I am a long rime reader, and I would like to first off say how much I enjoy reading my daily update's email from this thread:) Working hard to convince hubby a trip to Vegas is better than a return to NYC... Slowly getting there... So thank you all for fab trip reports and tips!

Ferf, my mum spent some of her time in Vegas geocaching, so if you have any questions, let me know.

hi Lizzie - thanks so much for replying! If you would not mind asking your mum if there were any that she thought were particularly good that would be great. I have a list of about 30, mostly based on favourite points as I wanted to keep the list down a bit as I know I am unlikely to make it to that many and didn't want to get caught up in going for tons of boring ones...and mostly in about a 5 mile radius of the Strip - a few further afield...so would be great to know if there are any she would particularly recommend so I can make sure they are on my list that would be great. Also if there are any that were particularly evil. ;)

    !!!

You're American!!! you KNOW we were not taught to use our knives that way. :(

I am so paranoid about eating around people here still...I have tried to learn to use a knife the way people here do, I have...I cannot do it...it is impossible for me.

Of all people I thought you would understand...now I shall go and cry in the corner by myself.

    :)
Aww, I just knew that would get a reaction from you:p
It is only a bit of fun, not meant to insult. At least you don't use chopsticks. (opps, there I go again) I am allowed to say things about Americans being one. I came over long before you so I picked all the British stuff really quick, including this stupid yokel accent I have.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
  • Hi, has anyone flown recently with Virgin from Manchester? We go on 25 October and am praying for a refurb and a good flight!

Encore is looking pretty good at the minute from what i have read. Have a friend there now in the Belaggio, and a friend is going next week and staying in Aria, waiting for the pics to come in!

I really enjoyed Caesar's - both in terms of atmosphere and location... We paid for a cheapo basic room but tipped $20 on check-in and got an amazing Augustus Tower room :)

Have also stayed in the Venetian and loved that too - mainly for proximity to FSM =D

If you're interested in sampling the nightlife then I would deffo recommend the Vegas Crawl - we got tickets off Groupon, and although a little dubious about it to start with we ended up having one of the funnest and funniest nights of our holiday on it!

    (p.s. I'm 28)

    Hey all :):)
Going back to Vegas next year. Just like last year, am trying and hoping i can pull off the trip at minimal cost and get the goodies! :D:D

However, dates were going, my god, prices seem very high at the mo... 23rd May to 1st June for room only on the strip, even the Excalibur is pushing £400, and that excludes resort fee !! crikey!!!!!!
Makes me wonder if something is going on that week.

I did find a deal which was flights and hooters hotel for £620, but am guessing over the next few months when flights flucuate, that should come down, and hopefully the other hotel prices will too!

Current idea is to fly to LAX, drive to 'Big Bear Lake' and stay for the night, then continue drive to Vegas.. (1 night big bear, 9 nights Vegas)... Looking costly at the mo! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!

Have to go back to Vegas as we didnt see nowt last year, spent too much time catching some rays!!! :D:D
Any ideas where to look to find out future events in Vegas, trying to find out why so pricey at the mo...

Memorial day is the 27th, and Memorial Day weekend is a pretty big time for Vegas I think.

    Hi Ferf,

She is struggling to remember them all, she found 25 odd in the 8 days there. But, most were pretty bad apparently (she says take some wet wipes with you). These are two she recommends in particular:

The first, make sure you read careful before hunting it down:)

    Have fun :D
