Breakfast at wicked spoon, which despite the choices on offer is now becoming boring as I think we have pretty much had eveything now.
Lay at the pool. All day. Bliss! Again, we used the bamboo pool on the 14th floor of the west tower. This pool has a few cabanas with a minimum bar spend but other than that all beds are free. It was also lovely and quiet and there were spare beds throughout the day. We did go and look at the boulevard pool (4th floor east tower) but what beds there are that you don't pay for seemed full already (10am) and it was a young crowd with banging music which was not what we were looking for. At lunchtime we face timed the kids from the restaurant and since it was really quiet hubby took the phone round and showed our 8 year old daughter the desert station. She was asking us to bring things back for her!
Left the pool at 5pm and went over the bridge to Walgreens for beer and a mug I had spotted a few days before that I wanted. Back to the room to start packing.
After all our deliberations over where to have dinner where did we end up? Stripburger! I had a r.com voucher for $25 and hubby decided a burger would hit the spot so off we went. Hubby loved his Mexican burger and chilli cheese fries, I had the blue cheese burger of which I managed half (hubby ate the other half). Both were very tasty. We had 2 orange whip cocktails and 2 beers and with the $25 off the bill was $31 plus tip.
Crossed the road and walked down past the Wynn, palazzo and went into the Venetian to the David $ Goliath tshirt store where I picked up a tshirt for a girl I work with who is getting married in Vegas next month.
Walked back to the Cosmo where we finally went to the chandelier bar to have our 2 free cocktails (well I had those - hubby had beer)
Back to the room and face timed the kids so they could see the Bellagio fountains all lit up at night as we had somehow kept missing that with them.
Got up this morning and called to see if we could have a late check out. Arranged for 3pm for $140. I did try to get it complimentary/cheaper/later but all to no avail. Rubbish MSE'r that I am! This will let us use the pool most of the day, have our lunch late then shower and out. Need to decide what to do between 3 & 7pm though.
Since we will be travelling home now my next wee TR will be from home just to round off and summerise the holiday. Not looking forward to the jet lag. I was bad enough on the way here! :rotfl:0 -
Anyone off to Vegas shortly who can use my r.com $50 voucher for the Mix restaurant at Mandalay Bay is welcome to it. PM me if interested and I will sort it out when I get home.0

Read the first posts, lots of ideas.
"Any ideas" is a bit vague
I've read this thread in great detail but still haven't come anywhere close to making a decision or even arriving at a short list.
I had a feeling that disclosing our ages may rule out some hotels and bring others to the forefront and that may get us off to a good start...credit_crunch wrote: »we are 25 & 29 & have been twice.
stayed in mgm, new york new york, encore & cosmo.
Would stay in them all again - but ny ny was prob best value for us & we didnt mind the extra 10/20 minute walk to the likes of Planet Hollywood etc.
Any questions, feel free to pm me :-)
Hey, thanks, i will do when i get a minute! Encore is looking pretty good at the minute from what i have read. Have a friend there now in the Belaggio, and a friend is going next week and staying in Aria, waiting for the pics to come in!
Girlfriends Dad is staying at the Luxor next month but he works on a budget, i wouldnt mind going over the top and splashing out, me and the girlfriend will have been together 2 years in May when we want to go.0 -
CASINOSI must say scottishnellie your commentary during your stay has been wonderful. You seem to have captured the excitement of a first timer? to Vegas. You have gone in with both feet and come out the other end none the worse! Well done to you.
(And I hate the frittes at MAG, don't know whether to eat them with fingers or fork)The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
CASINOSMoving on from my post about forks or fingers, does anyone else look at Americans eating and just want to slap them upside the head and say "for Gods sake, use your knife":D And then we make a real show of using cutlery properly.;)The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. Oh god yes!! My husband kicks me under the table and tells me I'm staring but I just can't help itIt's nothing to do with age or gender either - the old 'uns do it as much as the young 'uns.
Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!!:eek:0 -

VALUE FOR MONEYMoving on from my post about forks or fingers, does anyone else look at Americans eating and just want to slap them upside the head and say "for Gods sake, use your knife":D And then we make a real show of using cutlery properly.;)
!!!
You're American!!! you KNOW we were not taught to use our knives that way.
I am so paranoid about eating around people here still...I have tried to learn to use a knife the way people here do, I have...I cannot do it...it is impossible for me.
Of all people I thought you would understand...now I shall go and cry in the corner by myself.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYnow that I'm done crying.
It's probably a long-shot...but has anyone done any geocaching around Vegas?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
