After a 4 hour drive from l.a we've just arrived in vegas for our 1st trip here, feeling like a kid in a candy store at the mo!

Is everyone playing the "MyVegas" app on facebook? You can get free rewards for Mlife just for playing their online slots.
    If you join http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/groups/friendsofmyvegas/
You can get more friends and earn free rewards even faster.

    Hi all,

So 5th trip to Vegas booked and it's actually for our honeymoon! Staying at the Aria as its the best deal we could find. Going 8th -14th October. Don't know anything about this hotel so does anyone have any tips? - I have emailed them to see if we can get an upgrade as this has worked quite well in the past but haven't heard anything?

    Am :)

Home yesterday after a long journey. Up early this morning with jetlag even though we managed to stay awake till 930. Can't believe I've got to go back to work today.

Is there any free laundry rewards? :D

Seriously, tried it and found it is so boring, it takes forever to get enough points for any worthwhile rewards

Ditto...not my thing...hubby is playing though and while he likes this sort of thing normally even he's finding it a bit of a slog now..he's also not keen on adding loads of random people he does not actually know as friends to boost his earnings.

And welcome home, Lesley - thanks very much for the updates during your trip - really enjoyed reading them.

And like photome, I can't imagine going straight back to work! Hopefully you will settle back into the time quickly enough.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Hi, I'm looking to book Vegas for November 2012, Limited by Manchester only and want a direct flight, looked at direct with Virgin, then had a look at Thomas Cook who do Virgin holidays and the price for say the Flamingo for a week is roughly £400 cheaper with TC, this reads exactly the same T&C as the Virgin site. All comparable Virgin holidays to Vegas are way cheaper through TC.
Am I missing something, or is there anywhere else I should be looking?
    Thanks for any info.

I always fly from Manchester, on first read I thought it must be something to do with the flight as TC have their own plane but re reading and trying a dummy costing I agree with you. I didn't know TC did Virgin holidays. It looks like same flight, room, dates (I did 11th Nov for a week) so unless we are both missing something.....
I don't think you will earn flying club miles but not a great loss if you are saving money.

TC package staying at Flamingo deluxe room 11th Nov =1430.85
    Virgin package 11th Nov = 1820.30
VA flight and hotel with Lowcostusa 11th Nov =1450.90

Just did a quick comparison doing flight and hotel seperate always worth checking, depending on which hotel and dates you want it may be worth doing this.

forgot to add to the TR that we had a refurbed plane on the return leg and managed to get seats in the bubble.

so much better than before, IFE is vastly improved and on-demand with loads of films/music available on a touch-screen.

the overhead lockers are smaller, but there are 'lockers' underneath the windows, so window seats get a decent amount of space.

not many people had chosen the seats at OLCI, so there were quite a few people commenting on how they thought they'd been upgraded :D

i actually managed to get a few hours' sleep, whether that was down to the new seats, I don't know... even with being 6'2 and the seat in front of me reclined! which meant no room to move at all, but still relatively comfortable.

and at the new LV terminal, you can check-in at an outside desk :D
the terminal itself is much more spacious and clean, a few extra shops/stores but nothing much to write home about in terms of facilities.

You go to Vegas and you find slots boring?
There are loads of people claiming rewards. I have claimed 2 so far the same as my wife.

Sadly no laundry offers or back street hotels, just the MGM properties.
