I'd def do it if it was return, would be very tempted even for one way....My OH is very much on the same wavelength as you Photome there is no way he would pay to upgrade he just doesn't see the point, I on the other hand would love to go UC.

Hiya, I've just started costing up a trip to Vegas for September next year. I'd be really grateful if you could tell me if this is as good a deal as I think it is....

Virgin Holidays, 4 adults staying in two rooms at Caesar's Palace, flying from Manchester on 8 Sept 2013
    11 nights £4172.32 (£1043.08 per person)
    14 nights £4527.32 (£1131.83 per peson)

We're probably going to go for 11 nights, which is only £69 extra each than the price for 7 nights (£974)

There's no mention of a special offer on the actual search page but know there are some Vegas offers on their site (all seemed to be for much closer dates though). I do know that whenever I've glanced at the site and when we've been in the past, Caesar's has always been well out of our price range but it's cheaper than Circus Circus tonight!!

I don't know whether we should bite their hands off before the price goes up or if we'd be better to wait

We used to organise our own flights and hotels but this doesn't seem to be worth our while anymore. The cheapest indirect flights I found were knocking £700 - with a 26 hour return trip!!

    Thanks lots xx

Interesting - VA just rang me ahead of my weekend flight to LAS - offering UC for another #750 - tempted!!!!:D
I am assuming that is one way. Is it just you are you a couple?
Trouble is that you are flying from LGW so don't get the use of the better clubhouse. We got offered an upgrade from Prem to Upper last time we flew with VS at the bargain price of £1,200 one way each. Even I passed at that.
Upper is a great experience but I wouldn't pay £750 extra one way. I am also thinking you are already in Premium economy which is a very good product in the U/D, especially if you get the old aircraft and you haven't got the unwashed up in the bubble with you :D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Not sure if it's a good deal or not as I'm not familar with prices flying from Manchester...but you don't say what type of room at Caeasars but would be worth checking that before committing...some of their rooms are said to really, really let the name down.

Sorry, I should have said, they're Augustus rooms, they look pretty nice on the website!

Its for both legs - but not the bargain I first thought. Already in Premium Economy on a Miles + Money fare - paid 1250 +7500 miles.

The website is currently offering UC return for 2058 & no miles. So actually they are offering me the same price more or less + another 7500 miles.

Interestingly the prices for Premium are currently quoted as more than UC - perhaps they have oversold and are looking at moving single tickets like mine?

Think I will stick with what I have...this is my 9th trip to Vegas (will be at the Star Trek Conv next week at the Rio) - so need my $ for autographs and memorabilia - plus a table at the new Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse!!!

in that case it's a very good deal I think...if you assume that flights would be, say £700 per person (just for comparison, if you could get them) that leaves £400 pp for the room on the 14 night price...so £800 per room...so at today's exchange rate about $1250...divided by 14 =$90 average per night for a very nice room that you could get nowhere near for $90/night normally...if my maths are correct.

edited to add, I have no real concept of what the MAN-LAS flights cost normally, so maybe my perception isn't great...others who do price up that route may be better able to give you an idea...it is a looong way in the future so not really possible to compare like for like.

We just got flights for ~£600 each for next march. They ate currently £720 for the same days.
I can't say if these are typical flight prices because we haven't really bothered looking at Virgin flights before.

Do you mean you recently got flights for £600 and they have now gone up to £720.

I have been checking prices for various dates from October this year thru to May next year frequently and they do seem to be getting more expensive, I was looking at some just over £500 at one point but they are no longer available:(
