Hi all, we're Vegas bound again, :j it'll be back end of November we think. Been looking at prices and the games afoot!

This time I think we'll go for 10 nights, a week is just that little bit too short and a fortnight just a little too long so 10 nights should hopefully do the trick.

Need to gather my list of what we want to do/see/eat/experience :D

We fly VA from Manchester, this time we got a v good price of 493 + 2000 miles. I was checking prices for a couple of months then just before Xmas (booked 20/12/11) I found this price. The VA sale in January was more expensive.

For the same flight my sister had to pay nearly 900 (booked april 2012). Annoying as a month before could have booked PE for 833 + 2000 miles but were waiting on hospital results. We had a difficult decision whether to wait to see if they came down or just to book,it wasn't a case of looking for cheaper alternatives it had to be that flight. It is now 960 so didn't get cheaper, broke the rule of booking and not to go back and keep checking the price!

Forgot to say filghts are 9/8-26/8

I would say 700 from Manchester is a fair price to do costings from. I do spend fair bit of time looking at fare prices with them as they can be static for ages then just have odd prices.

Thats good news, if I remember correctly Vegas wasn't on for this year. Will you stay at Desert Rose again?

Sorry, I should have said, they're Augustus rooms, they look pretty nice on the website!

They are VERY nice -it's the best tower.
If you have a total rewards card it's probably worth logging in with the card number on the CP site and checking the room rates whilst logged in -sometimes you can be pleasently surprised ! (Ignore the fact it says you have no offers -if you've used the card at all there will be a discount)

On the topic of hotel rates -not Vegas but the same principle applies to Vegas hotels as well as anywhere else . I may need to spend a couple of nights in Leeds later this month so checked kayak. Marriott was £89 direct or £50 with hotels.com ebookers etc. I booked the refundable rate direct with Marriott (cheapest on their site) and then completed their Best Price claim form on the site. Three hours later they had reduced the rate from £89 for first night and £99 for the second to £38 per night ! Their guarantee is match the lower price plus 25% discount. Marriott for less than Travelodge -now that's moneysaving :)

Hi, might do :D my wants are free wifi, space, kitchen and no resort fee. It suited us really well before, was looking at the Platinum for a change but to be frank, I like to get straight to my car and they don't have parking.

As you know the Triker household are frugal travellers.

I'll be taking my trusty friends along for the journey too, them Restaurant.com certificates.:o

I'll use one this time if it kills me.:rotfl:

Got to say the flights prices are a bit gulp tactic, may have to do some kind of package deal.

Do you mean you recently got flights for £600 and they have now gone up to £720.

Yes, we booked them about a month ago. I still get my regular fare price email from kayak, so I watched them increase.

we are off on 12th august for 11 days. However, checking the virgin flights, they were fluctuating between 800/958.00 each. happened to look on lastminute.com, and both flights, accomodation at Treasure Island, £1600.00!! (includes resort fees too ) It was cheaper for us to book Treasure island than just the flights..... we stayed there when we got married, so will be a nice trip down memory lane, but for this price, we can change when we get there if we want.... my point of this is, just check packages, rather than just flights, because it defo worked for us.....

Been brought to my attention that this is coming in September to Vegas:
    http://goretorium.com/

I have no further details at the moment other than:
Eli Roth's Goretorium, an original haunted attraction, opens on the Las Vegas Strip in September 2012. Do you have the guts to experience the gore?

edit: actually, there's this as well :D

Seems right up the missus' street (which means I'll hate it :D)

Thanks all, we ended up booking late last night.....unfortunately the deal was a bit too good, we had a phonecall from Virgin this afternoon to explain that the price should have been £7,564!! Needless to say, we're not going now - booooohoooo :(

Will keep looking and hopefully there will be some decent offers once the scheduled flights go on sale next month

Anyone know if the IHG price guarantee applies to booking Venetian/Palazzo on their site, with a match against an emailed offer code direct from the hotel?
