Have you tried the links on the first page though generally speaking it is cheaper a bit further out than 4 weeks!
It may also be worth setting up a twitter / facebook account and following / liking hotels on there so that you catch the quick one-off deals...

for example, Luxor ( https://twitter.com/LuxorLV ) posted this 3 hours ago:
    Luxor Hotel & Casino@LuxorLV
*24 SALE ALERT!* Save 50% on Tower Rooms at @LuxorLV TODAY ONLY! Don't miss out on this HOT deal! http://!!!!!!!/LX2450TW

Obviously only of interest if you want to stay there (and the price works out better than other rates!)

The favourite one I follow is this one (which is one of the websites on the first page), but again, when they update the page, they tend to 'tweet' so saves you rechecking the website all the time
    https://twitter.com/VegasHotelDeals

I know it just turns it into a 'glamourised RSS feed' but it's effective and useful (for me) :)

Unfortunately I can't get the Luxor Twitter link to work.

I have a new dilemma. I got a deal from the Orleans. On 4-7th September I can get pay 2 nights at $29 each night, get one night free. So that's $58 plus tax and $6 resort fee for 3 nights. We are currently booked at Rio for those nights - $31 per night plus tax, no resort fee. So it's $76 plus tax at Orleans vs $91 plus tax at Rio.

Orleans is near McMullan's, we will be going to the Orleans buffet and quiz at McMullan's on the Tueday night. Rio has other options nearby, like Gold Coast and Palms (that said we've not been in The Palms for a while other than the Playboy Comedy but we've given up on that because it seems to be the same comedians and same jokes each time).

Parking is a tad easier at The Orleans. It's also near the interstate to get up to Summerlin - we will go for b/fast at Red Rock on the Wednesday or Thursday (we will have a car).

Orleans has Fuddruckers and Sbarro and Subway at their food court, and better drink prices. Rio has better drinks while playing slots.

Rio has a fridge in the room. Both rooms are big though. Orleans rooms are pretty standard, and they will probably give us a high floor. At Rio they'll want us to upgrade to get a high floor and we might not get the tower we prefer (Ipanema).

Wish I could decide. Haven't stayed at the Orleans for a few years now, so maybe that's why we're tempted by it. Both are great deals!!!

interesting - do you have more detail? I've done a bit of googling but if you have been before would be great to have some detail...my hubby is a biiiig pub quiz fan...usually he's the quizmaster, so would be nice for him to have a chance on the other side.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Orleans has a deal for their slots tournament over that time too (3rd-5th Sept) $99 for 3 nights and tournament entry (if 2nd person wants to enter too extra $49). 1st prize is $2500 2nd $750 3rd $300 4th-35th $100 slot dollars and 36th-100th place $50 slot dollars so good chance of ending up with a free stay for two 15 minute slot sessions over 2 days.

    http://www.mcmullansirishpub.com/events_pubquiz.shtml

It's every Tuesday at 8pm. Prizes are $100 and $50 bar tab. The round we find particularly difficult is the photo round - they're often american sportspeople etc, so not so easy to identify for us Brits.

It's a good quiz though, we've done quite well a few times, but yet to get a prize. We usually do the Orleans buffet for dinner first (about $16), and they do bottles of wine for about $6 plus tax at the buffet. We have a glass or so each, leave with a full glass, wander across the casino and exit at the end which is opposite McMullan's. Bit of a ritual for us. :rotfl:

Duchy I saw that too, however we're driving in from LA on the 2nd, doing 2-4th at Green Valley. Got a good deal there and really want to stay there. We did consider going up to Orleans on 3rd and checking in and registering for the tournament, however I don't know what time registration would be (assuming it's on the 3rd), then what time the actual tourney is. Could end up to inconvenient, as much as I would really like to do the tourney... :(

Thanks very much - are most of the teams couples or larger teams? And is it absolutely heaving in there?

Registration is 11am to 3pm on the 3rd according to the email Lesley.
Tournament is two 15 min sessions one morning and one afternoon on 4th.
    You play both.

I've heard, read (and even seen) a slots tournament - but don't know what one is?

Is it a case of they give you a $100 and it's whoever wins the most amount with it?

In a sense, is it a non-skill based, button pressing event? Or is there more to it? :)
