it is and i would agree .. 95 good reviews is good ... as i said i am not too worried about it i think it would be fine ... i was a tad concerned about the story of the woman that was out with her daughter and recieved hospital treatment ... but i am sure that since that situation they will most deff have put things in place so that situation will never happen again

    Especially for tripadvisor

very good point! and reading the negatives...one was due to cancellation due to weather (which can't be helped), one was upset that it was hot (in addition to an uninterested guide, of course), etc...it seems a very high satisfaction ratio for anything really. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    it's 431 5* reviews...456 3*-5*...only 9 less than 3*. :)

hi a couple more questions, ( i think you will all be glad when i'm back lol)

we are not long back from rome and i found i really struggled with getting decent food whilst there, not wanting to repeat this when we go to the u.s i was thinking of taking some things with me but i am unsure if i can or not

things i am thinking of taking

porridge, cous cous, quinoa, brazil nuts and almonds

i will also be taking some treats for my friend like tablet ( scottish sweet) will i be able to take them into the country?

also we are staying in the platinum but wont be picking our car up until the day we leave to go to grand canyon, is the platinum within walking distance of a walmart type shop? if not am i able to go by bus or taxi easily enough, if taxi roughly how far?

    thanks

    el

Honestly there's no need to take all that stuff with you. You can certainly get those items in Vegas (except the tablet of course lol). I think Wholefoods would have a good choice for your needs. I'm also Veggie but not as healthy eating as that lol. Some of the buffets are really very good and you will definitely get veggie food. At the breakfasts we tend to have fresh fruit, maybe some breakfast potatoes, bread, pancakes - that type of thing. And orange juice. You'd easily pay $3 for an OJ somewhere anyway, so buffets are good value when you consider that's included. And coffee etc if you want it. I can't remember if you said you had a car - if so I would recommend trying Red Rock buffet for breakfast if you take a drive out there. It's really cheap but of decent standard so would give you an idea if buffets would be good for you.

Each to their own, but eating in a lot? In Vegas the food capital of the world!! I am not veggie though so that may make things a bit different although Lesley is and she goes a lot

ps stop reading tripadvisor, most things if not everything you can think of has been done by someone on here, I know who I would rather believe :D

You can get there on the bus - it's at Town Square - the SDX

Like photome I cannot imagine eating in a lot in Vegas of all places...but I also cannot imagine doing a lot of things other people do in Vegas. :)

I do think you would have been able to take all the things on your list if you wanted to though.

that is one of the wonderful things about this forum that i love ... i just dont want to keep pestering everyone with questions all the time ... i mean come on i ask questions about cameras and taking porridge ... surely that aint normal lol :rotfl::rotfl:

i tend to use trip advisor like wikipedia ... a good place to start but not the type of place to believe everything you read :)

i think the thing for me is based on laziness, i like getting up in the morning, staying in my p.j's and taking my time with breakkie,

the idea of having to get up get dressed go find some where to eat ( which could take a wee while) pay x amount of dollars, just to eat some porridge, ( if they have porridge) fruit, maybe scrambled egg and a glass of water when i have a fully functioning kitchen in my room just doesnt appeal. i think it will also save us some money as we are trying to save up for a car next year as ours is done in

at night time i think we will eat out maybe 3 times ( we are there for 5 nights) but i think i will be eating in the other two ... lunch will be something quick and easy that i can chuck together in the kitchen, maybe a salad or something ...

but as i say i reckon thats cause i am lazy :) we plan on spending alot of time by the pool this holiday as we really need the break after everything we have been through

i have no doubt we will eat out though and i am looking forward to it ... it just means i am really gonna have to do some research on where as i want to get the best for us when we do go out

Re: scoot city on tripadvisor, that one unfortunate review was over 2 years ago, and there's probably more to it than meets the eye, hers was only one side of the story - she could easily have been a bit of an idiot as well!
there are 5 negative reviews in the last few years, making up barely 1% of all reviews, which are all otherwise glowing. theme other negative reviews don't really seem relevant or are stupidly picky.
don't be put off by one review, I can't wait and everyone on here who's been, loved it :)
