    hi me again :j
anyone know how I find out what plane BA use for this route?
777? And if so which one? Or are they all pretty much the same?
    Thanks
They use the 744 for this route now. There are 2 versions, the high"J" and the low "J". This pertains to the position of the exit extra legroom seat letter.
There hasn't been a 777 used on this route for some time as far as I am aware. You try getting a full load of a jumbo into a can of beans. Actually if you are traveling in Y the 777 was a better plane as the seats next to the windows were all pairs.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

It depends on the length of your stay. Most people from what I can gather do $20 per stay, but I think that's a bit cheap if you are staying 7 nights or more

Thanks for your response, was thinking that $20 would be a bit miserly for longer stays

Do a mock booking and you can then easily find out, or put a flight number into seatguru.com. BA have 777-200s and 777-300 (the 300 is bigger and pretty new). Not sure what they use for Vegas but I am on a 777-300 to LAX and returning on a 747-400.

I'm a good tipper, but I personally don't think $20 is miserly...it's a tip for the clerk for giving an upgrade to a room that wouldn't have been sold anyway (if it would have been sold they wouldn't give a complimentary upgrade)...I don't think there's any issue with tipping more and certainly if you're specific and want something that's a significant upgrade...but we've never tipped more than $20...we normally ask nicely - usually have the $20 visible, if an upgrade is forthcoming we offer the tip...if not, the tip goes back in our pocket.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I am with you, I have never given more than $20. I have laso never asked for an upgrade and given nothing which I know some people do.

I wouldnt mind working on a front desk and pocketing $20 a few times a day

Cosmopolitan Terrace Suites and Wraparound Suites have a washer / dryer in room!

thanks again for this - just booked a Terrace Suite...painful to spend so much for 3 nights but it's a special trip so we decided what the heck.
Kind of sad that it was my non-smoking hubby that was the one to think that I could smoke on the terrace - as we always get non-smoking rooms as he hates to get stuck in a really smelly room...this will be quite exciting for me! :)

We may change our mind closer to the time, but for now are quite excited...just that we haven't spent anywhere near that much for 8-9 nights total in years, so for 3 nights it seems like SO much to us....but we've never had a room that grand either, so...:)

They are lovely rooms, you'll love it.

Our frugal heads can't get around paying that much either.

Whoo hooh well done, I agree with you about spending so much on a room, you will like it though

We had a terrace room last august for about £100 a night, it was great to go out on balcony and watch the fountains, as for the room itself it was a bit wasted on us as we were hardly in it, I also prefer the rooms at pallazzo and THE Hotel.
I am glad we stayed there for the balcony experience but wouldnt stay there again

We're using the washer/dryer and potential for free breakfast to try to offset it...we're still cringing a bit, but I do think that the terrace experience will be very cool.

I'd love to try it, but Tony doesn't want to get used to it, so we don't.
