Why not look at just off strip ?
The Orleans has a really nice pool and a free frequent shuttle to the Strip (drops mid strip by Bills). Think it'd be a better bet than a Strip hotel for insanity levels if it's a holiday weekend. Room rates are vastly better too-and their rooms are HUGE. I often switch to the Orleans when Strip rates get silly. It's quicker getting to the Strip (and free) than say getting the Deuce from say Trop or Riviera/Hilton parts of the Strip.

Cocktail service at the Orleans is always good too

I can tell you that the GN pool is awful. The beds are really close together and it is hard to get a good place. The beds are comfy though. They have an upstairs pool that you need to pay to get in, but that would be very busy on a bank holiday too, because it's really small.
  • Hi. I've booked flights for our first ever trip to Vegas in September to celebrate my husbands 40th as Vegas is his all time fantasy holiday. I'm now looking at hotels, shows, food, trips etc - phew!

I've been reading this thread and it's so helpful - such a lot of info to trawl through. I'll try not to ask any daft questions but I do have one already.

I've registered for restaurant.com as advised and can see some good restaurant vouchers I fancy buying but how do I know they won't expire before Sep - I can't see any dates anywhere.

They don't have an expiry date...they used to be good for a year from purchase but they scrapped that awhile back.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    WEATHER
Honeymoon to Vegas is only 8 days away!! :j (I am even more excited as it is now snowing??!!! outside and I can't wait for the Vegas sunshine)

We are wanting to go see Matt Goss at Ceasars Palace - anyone else been?? Does anyone know if any discount codes for tickets via TicketMaster? I believe they are sometimes available via Tix4Tonight but we don't really want to gamble on them not being available and then missing out.

We would also like to book a limo for an hour during our stay, to pick us up, go to the Welcome sign for a quick photo and then be dropped off at a restuarant. I've been researching and believe Presidential Limos are good and cost $60 an hour. Has anyone used any other company and can recommend?

    Thanks!
Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j

Wishing everyone some magic fairy pixie dust for luck!

Ahhh I'm going the day after tomorrow! So excited! I haven't even started packing yet though :o Gonna make a list of stuff to pack today.

Also need to get some restaurant.com vouchers, I asked them on Facebook and they said there isn't a code at the moment, one will appear later this month

a few years ago, we just picked up a limo (in the evening) that was waiting outside the Luxor and did the full stretch of the strip including the driver taking a piccy of us at the sign and that was $60 plus tip if I recall so seems about par

... i'll be honest though, the driver was a bit of a miserable sod :rotfl:

have a great honeymoon anyways, you hear good things about Presidential so don't think you can go wrong :)
