VALUE FOR MONEYUK slot machines usually have a 78% to 80% return for your money, I presume the USA slots are nearer 90% - do you happen to know?
All the info you need is in the American casino guide. Of course you need the paper edition to read it, info is probably also out there on the web somewhere.
From memory the higher denomination you play the better the odds, some are as high as 98%, penny slots are down to about 90%.
Also location makes a difference strip hotels being less than off strip, downtown etc.
As said this is from memory so figures may be slightly different0 -
Anyone wanting to get the new iPad 3 while in Vegas will be probably be disappointed for the next few weeks with all the outlets getting limited stocks they will go fast to the ones prepared to queue early in the morning......... Or order through the apple store and you can use your U.K. Credit card, then select Collect from store" and the date you want it, you will be presented with which of the 4 outlets it will be available from. I ordered mine last week for the first date available (16th) and was told I can pick it up from the Town Square store on that date. Just had an email telling me to come in at my leisure to pick up. You can put in any old address as the cardholder addy in the payment stage
Just tried to order one through the US site and it will not let me select pick up from store? I was hoping to pick one up at the end of next month while we are in Vegas.0 -

DD's birthday is Jan 4th, and am worried that immediately after all the hype of Xmas and New Year, Vegas will be on a bit of a downtime, dont want to feel we have got to the party after its fizzled out! Plan to stay for 5 nights in total so can play around with dates alittle but if we go for the majority of trip before her actual birthday she wont be able to drink or gamble

Am i worrying needlessly....does Vegas ever get quiet?
Ive got the fact that Location, location is the major factor, so am thinking either Paris or Planet Hollywood. Paris appeals to me, because of all the themeing but am worried its aimed more for romantic couples and reports of being smokey and having uncomfortable beds in blue rooms. Planet Hollywood on the otherhand should have more of a party vibe which is great for a 21 year old but not so for a 40 something mum, lol.
Also any ideas for any extra special things to plan for the actual day, have looked at night time helicopter flights or early morn hot air balloon flight and even a champagne limo tour but there are so many companies and such differing reviews for each that im feeling a bit bambozzled......please help.
Vegas is 365 days 24/7 so no worrys on that score, will be cold in Jan but I guess you are not going for the pool scene.
Location isnt everything, although to me it is important, but there are many central hotels to choose from, either of your choices would be good as would many others.
They are all smokey unless you go for one of the few non smoking hotels that dont have a casino (not the same)
Havent done any of those special events so cant comment0 -

VALUE FOR MONEYLooks like CES is 8th to 11th Jan this year....at least according to LVCVA.com...I would personally not really want to be in town then, high room rates and big crowds...long queues...no thanks.
I don't think Vegas is ever really dead - if someone has never been before, I don't think even being there during a slow period will seem 'dead'...for those who have been many times, it may feel a bit slow, but with nothing to compare to, I do not think it will.
As for the hotel question - I don't think that Paris is particularly aimed at romantic couples - I don't think that will really be a concern...but PH is geared more toward a younger crowd, though we (in our early 40s) don't feel out of place there...just maybe slightly old...we prefer the standard rooms at Paris by a mile, but for a 21st birthday, I could see the justification for staying at PH.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We arrive on 29th, so we'd prefer it later too. We are at Excal for the first 5 days, where are you?
We don't do dressing up either.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYWe flew to Vegas 8th Feb 2012 and stayed 2 weeks, our Hotel Planet Hollywood was brilliant we most certainly would stay there again,be sure to ask for non smoking room if you don't smoke. We went to a show per night, Blue Man is Brilliant as is the Vegas show, and jabbawokki.Disappointed in the food,i like good honest fresh food alot of places sold junk food.Beware the restaurant in Planet Hollywood next to the theater showing peepshow its very very dear, our one mistake was choosing to eat there before the show.
Don't buy drink inside the show areas they too are very dear,we sat and played slots and got free drinks whenever we wanted them so long as you tip a dollar to the girl.
enjoy your holidays we DID.I'd go back tomorrow if i could.0 -
Has anyone stayed at the Tropicana lately? £45 a night seems pretty good.0
