  • in vegas through 25th March to 1st April. Hoping to do a bit of trekking in the canyons whilst there though most hilking sites need a party at least 2 people which means yours truly has to either:
    a) pay an extorationate bribe to my wife, whose idea of walking starts in the forum shops at caesars and ends in the main mall
    b) find a buddy or buddies who are as daft as me

Plan b is definitley the only option I can afford short of my numbers on the lottery coming up, anybody else interested,
otherwise I'll be booking that zip wire down the canyon thing.
Anyone interested I can do anyday but Thursday - off to Hoover Dam that day

Just booked my tickets to see Elton John at the Colosseum at Caesars!! There have been new dates added and the tickets just went on sale today at 10am Vegas time so I was online bang on 5pm.

Managed to score Front Orchestra instead of the 2nd Mezzanine I was expecting so just been doing a Happy Dance here.

Absinthe has also been extended, but we are waiting to get the tickets when we arrive so we can get the $20 off voucher they hand out.

We are running out of shows to see so it was almost Donny and Marie again, although that would have been OK too, but they are resident and it's just lucky if Elton is playing when you are there.

This might be useful for you if you have a car to get to the meeting point. Also, this is $159 for a single person hike. If you made your wife go, it would be $119 each.

If you would be OK going on your own, then this might help. A friend of mine posts details of his hikes on everytrail.com, so have a look there too.

    Hope that helps.

I was at the Trop last in June 2011 and was overwhelmed by how great it was. Amazing spacious clean modern rooms.
  • Cheers pebblesmax, thanks for the sites. May need to get a car, the local hikes site is the business. Would have liked to go with 'hike this!' as they're no 1 on trip advisor, but fully booked all week - have been for months - what a life those guys must have!!!

Many thanks for that. There are much better offers on there than the last time I looked.

I was going to try the code to see if it worked beyond 31 March, then remembered that the tickets are through Ticketmaster. I would rather go direct to the box office to avoid their ridiculous fees.

I'll keep checking that site to see if it is extended then print it off as I assume you can use it at the box office.

I would definately do that if you can...we did book via Ticketmaster as we wanted a Saturday night and didn't want to risk it selling out - we had a $20 off code and our 2 $59 tickets post-discount, after taxes, fees, service charge and will-call charge cost us $157.25.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
