There is 1 reason, their staff are completely inept!! I am currently conversing with them about a claim using Lowcostusa as the comparison, they are completely refusing to accept the rate i have for my dates and room and are telling me the only rate they can find is over £400 dearer and is not a rate that shows for any room in the cosmopolitan! I smell something fishy to be honest that they dont want to honour the deal, they are also refusing to review the claim so looks like i will be cancelling my booking with them, oh well!
I had the exact same problem on my first reservation. They said they could only find the terrace studio fountain view on lowcostusa. I cancelled that one no problem. On my second, i used the virgin site. I wasn't too hopeful as they were even cheaper than lowcostusa. The first response was they could only find the city room, after a nice printscreen pointing out the 'click here for more room type link' they accepted it. but they forgot to take the 25% extra off, so that was a further email! Got there in the end and am very happy.0 -

I may give it another go once the cancellation has gone back to my card. I wont bother with lowcost and just try using the expedia booking(as its lower anyway and forward them my confirmation email with all the pricing details in and see what the response is then!0 -
to be fair, i've had a look at the lowcostusa website and it is quite confusing and lists around 10 different rooms for the cosmo. you do have to point the obvious out to them but they do get back to you quickly which is good. someone different responds each time so you may get someone with a few more braincells than the previous person!
its a fantastic deal and i wouldn't have been able to afford the cosmo without it.
for those that have used the virgin site to compare rates, i thought they couldn't compare rates across currencies?0 -

Then when I went again last summer I signed up on my first day, but then forgot to use it most of the time. Then towards the end of the holiday I left it in a machine when I was (very drunk!).
So now in 4 weeks I'm going back for my third trip, and I WILL start collecting points! Even if I just get a free buffet out of it :TThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYDon't get your hopes up. You have to pay hundreds if not thousands usually to get anything in comps. As an example I played craps for 7 nights straight in Planetho for 2 hours a night. Average money on the table was in the region of $150.00 for the whole time. I got nothing, not even a sandwich.
it depends what you play though and where...CET properties are known to favour slot players...and some folks have gotten comped rooms (admittedly for a subsequent stay) for not a lot of play. Wynn was quite generous at one point too, I know folks who got comped rooms - at least one night for less than $40 played through machines there, though that was a while ago.
Ultimately if you're going to gamble it's free to join, some places offer discounts at restaurants and shops or discounted rooms just for having a membership and you never know what might come of it...best not to expect much and be pleasantly surprised.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

On the other hand a few dollars in a slot machine at Orleans will get you a free buffet, they also have lots of free promtions where you just swipe your card and get bonus points.
You can pay directly at the buffet counter with your slot card
After a couple of days stay there I usually have about $10 to $15 available to spend and I am not a big gambler by any means0 -
CASINOSWhile we were out there in September one of our crowd got a celebrity spa suite comped for his entire stay and $1000 dining credit from the MGM.
That was after just 1 night playing roulette.
He was however playing $1000 a spin and over time walked away $10,000 down that night.0 -
Dont think this has been mentioned, but Total Rewards has finally joined the 21st century and allows you to setup a username and password instead of expecting you to remember a card #, and a pin number
woohoo!
