  • Well done every one - loving all the positive posts.
I will only be able to update debt payments on 1st of each month which seems such a long time off. Small victory though as Zapper have emailed that I am getting a cheque for £30 to add in.
Lots of watchers on 2 ebay items that I hope will boost debt repayment too but no big bids yet - do people usually wait til last minute?
Have I missed new Tuesday challenge??? I kept so well on food budget (£12.52) for this week that I rewarded myself with a chippy tea - not money saving or diet friendly but blooming marvellous ;)

    :wave:Evening all!

:mad:Completely off thread here but just need to have a moan. Got a letter today from the ombudsman regarding my PPi claim, that my DH is sorting for me, saying they won't look into my claim because there has been too much time (over 12 months) between my bank declining my claim and us referring it to them. Erm... only started the process in June 2011, so DH studied the letter from the bank which declined my claim and it is dated October 2010!!!! What is really irritating is that later in this letter they refer to my claim of June 2011. How in October 2010 did they know I would make a claim in 2011??? They've obviously misdated the letter.:mad::mad: So it's back to the ombudsman with the highlighted mistakes tomorrow. DH was fuming with my bank, had a right rant (his mood not helped by some guy on Sky Sports criticising disgruntled Rovers fans, of which he is one)

Sorry for the rant, feel better now:) Off to catch up on the thread now. At least the site isn't all skew-whiffy at home :rotfl:

Well done sharronj that is a fantastic achievement!:T

Hi guys I'm enjoying reading all your posts. I still haven't paid anything off my debt yet. This debt busting is so new to me, I'm afraid if I pay anything off I will run out of money before payday like I usually do. Although I've been doing really well, I changed my gas provider today, I listed loads of stuff on ebay, books on amazon and I've only spent 23.90 since last tuesday. I so determined to pay of this debt by Christmas, can't wait.

Continuing good luck to all you debtbusters:)
  • Damage on the MOT and repairs in total £270 squids, new back brakes and a CV fitted, what the hell is a CV??? This is after a £40 reduction after telling the man "what about if I pay in cash?" My old self would have just handed over the cash without thinking. Now to make up for it, I'm determined to get that 1/4 tank of fuel last me at 2 days and clean the car myself instead of paying someone to wash it - they do do a hell of a job though.

This has set me back a bit. When I did my totals I was already in my overdraft so have to wait till payday to get in the black on the current account, that or when mum hands over the mini lump sum for me to "hold" for her.

Need to rummage around for some other stuff to sell on ebay. I think I will tackle on a bunch of "tragic the saddening" collectible cards this sunday, and if i get time maybe a few other bits and bobs.

DFW things I have done today : Bought bread, asda SP ham, asda SP pickle to make sandwiches for our league tabletennis match tomorrow. Home team has to do the food for 6 players, and its my turn. Normally woulda bought some ready made sarnies, but saved in the region of 8-9 squids by making them myself. Bought some 50p Heinz soups, 50p Pot noodles while I was at asda just in case I was feeling too lazy to make lunch one day. 50p pot noodles is cheap right?

Oh one last thing, not a single cigarette for about 36hours!!! I can do it! This time it will happen, webitha im determined to join the no ex-smoking club... again!

I had another NSD today, I'm hoping I can continue this as this was my biggest down fall, spending for no reason whilst at work. This forum has massively helped and keeps my head in the game. fingers crossed I have some money left at the end of the month to pay off my debts.

I just realised today that I have a spinning bike in the garage which I could put on Ebay, which should get me a few £££ so will be putting that on at the weekend.
I will stop spending on things I don't need

  • Question on APR for snowball calculator. I have a credit card with balances at different APRs. Part of the balance is at 0%, part at 5.9% and part at 18.9%. I think whatever I pay goes to pay off the 0% balance first, of course, and then the 5.9% and so on. What is the best way to put this in the snowball calculator. I also have another c.c. with 15.9%, one at 9.84% and one at 2.9%.

    TIA

Are you sure? When I used to use my CC to take out cash (Yes I really was that nutty:eek:) which was at a higher APR, my statement said that these transactions with the greater APR would be paid off first. May be worth checking...

supakarin - I know you were feeling down about not being able to pay off big chunks of debt like some people but you sound like you've saved quite a lot today. :T
