On the plus side, that much tax does pay for the fireworks in London tonight. Happy new year!
Well as I live in Leeds it's not *much* of a plus to be honest but at least I don't have a student loan to pay :rotfl:0 -

I know, I doubt I'll get much enjoyment either, being out in the wild west. Much like the olympics though, I will benefit by being able to watch it on TV.
My family's from the Leeds area, there's a lot of worse places to be I suppose.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

Today we are having a family meal, let's hope it goes better than the last one! My parents are going away this afternoon for a few days to try to have some alone time and get to know each other again. At least it means that I will have a few days to myself too and will use it wisely to get on top on my finances (I've still not had time to work out where I'm up to!), put together an exercise plan (I may ask for some advice Credit Crunched...) and I've just been on the scales so know exactly my starting weight! I've still got loads to do on the family business too but I'm going to stick to normal working hours to give me some time to do things for me before I go to work on Tuesday.
It's amazing to think that this year I WILL BE DEBT FREE!!! I keep looking round my room and thinking that if something's not been used in the past month then I should sell it... :rotfl:
Hope you all have a lovely New Year's Day and are raring to go on the best busting this year! I will work out the total paid off in December and 2011 in total (although we only started this on 15th November...) and let you guys know what it comes to. :j
I think it was InsertWittyName who said that we had already pledged to clear over £2.3m of debt and I'm sure in the next week or so we'll push that over the £3m mark with our new members. If this is the way for us to reduce the fat cat's bonuses who run the banks then I'm happy!!!Once I am debt free, they are not getting 1p of my money to line their own pockets with...
I firmly believe that lending was completely irresponsible, I went uni when they were giving out credit like sweeties and so I took the money without question as there was noone to guide me in the consequences (it seems obvious now but you move away from home for the first time it's all overwhelming to be honest and my parents never had a credit card or a loan and have never been to uni). To allow a 25 year old (I'm now 30) to have £43,073 of unsecured debt is quite frankly frightening (if you add in my student loan and 1/2 the mortgage then it was £113k of debt at 25yrs old and I only earned £16k a year!!!). It has been a noose around my neck since I became an adult BUT IT WILL BE GONE THIS YEAR!!!! :j:j:j
I am so excited!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
