Afternoon all . Thank you so much for the shining new thread Jemma - greatly appreciating all your work.
I too would like to join the weight loss challenge- 28lbs please.
I am a little bit hungover today- not massively but enough to be lounging on the sofa with various be-pyjamaed children. I am really looking forward to the new year starting- my last baby goes to nursery 5 days a week (mornings) as of Weds so I am going to have so much more time to play with. My plans are:
1) Organise the house- ebay all the tat, sort out all my paperwork, clothes etc. This will help me get on top of the cleaning, washing etc
2) Plan my meals and shop accordingly- leading to a stricter budget and better go at the diet
3) Use some of my new found time to exercise- I have taken up running over the Christmas period and am intending to keep it up in the new year- I can drop the kids at school, come home and fetch the dog and go for a run. I am also going to go to the gym at least 2 mornings a week and do a class. It helps my mental health and keeps me on top of my Crohns disease a bit more
4) Cut down drinking- this ties in with my weight loss and fitness goals. I feel bloated and puffy and sluggish although I am very proud of myself for running over this xmas period. I am aiming to be alcohol free in the week and then not neccesarily reach for the bottle just because its the weekend. Sometimes I dont want a drink but feel almost obligated because its the weekend.
5) above all sort out the debts. I am so proud of what I have done so far. I am definitely going to pay off the Vanquis this month (Jan) and then am getting rid of Capital One asap

Idris, you have inspired me to write down some goals for the rest of the month and therefore the year!
POA is as follows:
Have at least 15 NSDs this month.
When I return home from work on 19th sort out a list of things to ebay in my bedroom!
Exercise at least every other day this month!
Reduce bread and cheese intake rapidly!
Eat more fruit!
Pay of a bit more of my credit card and get a F&F for the end of the month so I can pay it all off!
Tadaaaaaa xIn debt no more!0 -
I just paid another £50 off Vanquis
SO I only have £57.99 to pay off that card now then it is GONE GONE GONE.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Best wished to you all for 2012 xx0 -
Happy new year all!!
I haven't been able to start making any payments yet, but I get paid on the 7th, so will start then. I don't want to lose momentum before I start, so I thought I would just have a little ramble about the MSEish things I did today
1. Got up early to make the most of the new year being a dry sunny day and got 2 loads of washing outside to dry on the line
2. went in to town, and picked up lots of things in poundland - then put them all back as I don't need them
3. bought all of my wrapping paper and tags for next xmas for the grand total of £3.96
4. Asked most of my family to buy me vouchers for my driving school for my birthday (wednesday) so I don't have to pay for any lessons out of Jan salary
5. asked my sister for a new (cheapy basic) food processor/blender - to help me to make soups to take to work for lunch.
6. Increased my standing order to the credit union, so i am overpaying my loan by £40 per month
Its not much, but tis a start....and my OH told me last night that he was thinking of buying a new laptop in the sale as ours is very old/slow/cruddy - but that he had decided against it as I've been talking so much about shifting our debts this year0 -
This is a great thread, can u add me please. i'd like to pay off £6400 and lose 42 lbs....... many thanks and happy new year!!0

Happy new year everyone!
I'm hoping to get off to a good start this year so am going to work out if I can pa anything off debts before payday on the 25th. I'm not going to be too hopeful as I have some exam fees to pay so I can take some A Levels in June.
Have got a target of paying approx. £200 a month and this will happen straight away on payday to ensure I do not spend it!
I am also in the process of clearing unwanted stuff - have managed to sell a couple of things, but have resorted to gumtree as can't stick paying all these fees for eBay. Would love to have a clean and minimalist house so a declutter is just the beginning.
On a brighter note I have had fun today with DS making thank you cards for pressents!
Am going to make this a positive and rewarding year so when it comes to next New Years Eve I will have lots to look back on and be proud of!Declutter 2020 - 267/2020 :j

Good afternoon everyone, and Happy New Year
After weeks of reading all of your posts on here I have decided that I need your support in helping me removing my habit of making debt, paying it off and then immediately creating a new debt?
So last week I paid off the cards by taking out a loan from the bank, perhaps I should have moved them to a 0% period card? But at least I did something?
Now I need to get the 10K loan paid off, and discover a way of saving some money, or creating some more!
So, i am looking forward to being with you all0 -
Another £44 off my debts, new total
