DEBT FREE FOR CHRISTMAS 2014 please:j0 -
To all our lovely newbies, if you have any questions at all then please just ask as we're a friendly (if slightly crazy!) lot and we'd love to help you. It can be about which debts to pay off first or meal planning or batch cooking (kerri_dfw is our star for veggie boxes) etc. There is a link to the DFW Dictionery on the first page of this thread which should help with any of the lingo on this forum and also some other useful hints and tips on there. Remember, we are all in the same boat so there are absolutely no silly questions and no judgements. xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Hooray got my number - feel like a fully paid up member now :j
Thank you so much for doing my % - 7.59% is a very encouraging start! It will have to keep me going til next pay day as I will only make monthly payments off debts. My approach is to rely on strict budget cut backs.
I think this thread is so positive and motivating I really will bust that debt now. Have read thru about half of last years posts and love the way people put things back in shops cos they feel people here are watching them:) Just the motivation I need - I am a master of "justifying" why I need to spend and wonder why the debt total never really goes down :rotfl:

when I read the challenge for the week I thought "nooooo...I ate xmas dinner and boxing day at family, and didn't really do a big shop before xmas so I can't do this." But that way of thinking is how I got into this mess...I made a lovely pot of soup for tonights dinner, and tomorrow I'm going to go out to our chest freezer in the store and inventory what we've got, Ive got plenty of tinned tomatoes so pasta sauces etc should be no worries, I've stolen someones flapjack recipe from the old thread and am going to use that to make snacks for mine and DD's lunch when we go back to work/school etc. So I should be able to get away with just buying milk, fresh fruit and veg - as I already bought bread on a 2fer and have frozen it....I'm worried that the extreme amount of milk we use will bump my total up tho0

Car broke down today
Was hoping to make a few more payments, but they will have to hang fire until I find out how much it's going to cost to fix. Awesome start to my debt free 2012!
hope it's not too pricey
What have you done to me???? I've now put a To Do list together for tomorrow including a full inventory of what is in our fridge and freezer and making up meal plans for them! We should have enough here to last us all month with only buying the bare necessities of fresh fruit and veg. We'll then buy the staples such as fresh meat and buy in bulk when it's on offer. I'm actually quite excited by this which is bloomin weird! :rotfl:Hurray!! your back
Ooooo im sooooo up for this challenge, ive got a months worth of meat in the freezer and a cupboard full of pasta, sauces and G/F stuff for Jake. Thank you co-op and your 6 vouchers of £5 off £30 spends! you must have known Kerri would come up with this :rotfl: I reacon I can get away with only buying milk and bread this week if I remember to take out stuff for dinner everydaywill I be the cheapest? :rotfl:

This weeks mini-challenge, announced early, is to eat out of the freezer and cupboards. You bought all that food for Christmas, now eat it all up
tins, pastas, spaghetti that takes ages to cook, stews, soups made from wilting sprouts. I wonder who can have the cheapest grocery budget of the week???
Hey, is it cheating if I get my mum to pay for all the groceries this week so I don't need to spend a penny...?!!! :rotfl:New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
