Hello all, hope all is well and you all had a great festive period. I have been busy eating my body weight in cheese meat and wine!
Sat here today with a great sense of positivity for 2012, those that have not read any of my posts before a brief overview.
Always been lucky enough to be in a well paid job, however have always spent what I have earned and have racked up credit cards as a result. £12k of debt later I have decided to attack it head on, and this thread has saved me from a possibly financial mess.
So a big thanks to everyone , you do not understand how much your individual stories of success spur me on and focus my attention.
It may sound dramatic but I feel different, better, more positive knowing I am addressing my 'problem'
A brief overview of what I have done so far today:
- Cancelled magazine membership, never read it
- Changed energy suppliers
- Sorted cupboards and realise I have enough dried good for 2 week meals
- Cancelled gym and changed to 24 hours gym for 9.99 month, i go 5 times a week so can not bear to cancel the gym!
- E-bay items worth about £200
- Sorted out all my documents, and shredded them, found an old paper briquette maker in the garage and now soaking them to fuel the fire
- Cashed out my topcashback vouchers as amazon and bought a £10 composter bin for all my veg etc
Contacted local saw mill who have said I can have unlimited sawdust / offcuts, this will be used to make paper / sawdust briquettes, with this I can basically have the gas off constantly
So making huge inroads, this will free up a lot of money on a monthly basis to attack those pesky credit cards!
So whenever you post your stories of success or even your challenges, remember that you are really helping me, and even If I can help one person in return then that will make me feel great!
Thanks all and lets do this!0 -
