    :wave::wave::wave: Hello my DF Xmas 2012'ers!!!! :wave::wave::wave:

Glad you all like your new home here, I've still got some things to do on it but much happier that we can have all the info for everyone at the beginning as well as fitting all our new members on!

I still have some updating to do from the end of the last thread so I will do this and any updating from this thread later on tonight. I will hopefully be able to give you the total paid off in December and in fact the total paid off in 2011 from when this challenge started on 15th November 2011.

Hope you all have a wonderful evening tonight whatever you do and I look forward to busting this debt (and butt...) in 2012 together!!!

The bad news... you're probably above the threshold for allowances, but if you're a normal taxpayer (ie total earnings under 40 something thousand, then you'll be paying 20% tax plus 11% NI. And if you've got a student loan then you can throw another 10% at that too.

On the plus side, that much tax does pay for the fireworks in London tonight. Happy new year!
    DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

    Total - 10762/10762 :)

Every silver lining has its cloud.
  • Yay, what a lovely new thread! I was feeling good today, paid 150 off my debts and put a few things on eBay, made a little list for the new year and took down Xmas decs. But this evening my oh had a car accident on the way to work, he was fine but the car is not. Lovely £400 excess charge to find now, not the best way to go into the new year!
I was wondering, I have booked a holiday for June, have only paid deposit so far, so does the outstanding amount count as debt?
And can I please join in weight loss challenge, I have gained 7lbs this month and feel disgusted with myself. Need to lose about 21lbs before holiday!
Hope everyone has a lovely evening...I'm spending the night lying on my bed with a baby sleeping on my chest as she has suddenly developed a random phobia of her cot!
New total then for #219 £150/4150
  • Can i join please? Got a debt to my sister of about £5000 that I would like to get cleared asap, just not entirely sure how i'll do it right now whilst on maternity pay for the majority of 2012!!!

Can you also add me to the weightloss bit pls? Put me down for 70lbs but wont be starting that till after I've had baby at end of march and recovered from my c-section.
Mummy to a very gorgeous little boy and baby girl :D

    Hello,

Would I be able to join this thread please? I will post a proper total soon as I have found out what it is. I have just realised that I have two bank accounts that I haven't used in a while and need to add these totals to my current debt:eek::eek: which seems to be ever-growing at the moment.

A Happy New Year to everyone...:j

Well, my debt that needs to be paid off in 2012 (fingers crossed!!) is £9758. I am hoping that is all there is and that there is nothing that I have forgotten now. I am hoping that 2012 is the year that I pay it all off as it seems to have lingered for years and years without me making any progress with it. I will be a student for a few more months and then hopefully a job in August time will help me get rid of it. Then definitely no more credit cards!!

I am hoping MSE will keep me on the straight and narrow;)
