Hi Peeps,
Welcome to all the newbies  this is a great thread for motivating you to get rid of debt.
I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today as I am on 'clear out' ! for a colonoscopy tomorrow, but I've decided to use my time wisely and list on Fleabay even if I can't photograph today. So hopefully in a weeks time I'll have a few more pennies to throw at my debt.Life's little instructions- Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated..Watch a sunrise at least once a year..Strive for excellence not perfection:j£2 SC no.70 £140/£350SPC no.73 SPC9 £248 SPC10 target £250DFBX12 No. 069 £7719 / £7719 DEBT FREE 30/11/122013 mfw No.4 MORTGAGE FREE 5/8/130 -
I'm still fleabaying *yawns* it's so far taken the entire season 2 of dr who, the whole of Lincoln Lawyer and now I'm onto The Mentalist. Almost there with the first 50 items of the year. Any proceeds are sooo totally going towards my debt even if it is my sisters stuff she couldn't be bothered to fleabay herself! It's been the equivalent of an entire days work and I could be making CK goodies to sell.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Right then here goes......
My name is Simon, nearly 28 and deciding that at absolute worst I want to be debt free by the time I'm 30, my debts are currently a grand total of £4,480.93, not ridiculous, but thanks to living on my own are a nightmare!!!
So a little about me, I specialise in Insurance Restoration and up unitl last year when the company worked for went into liquidation I was doing ok, for about three months I was constantly "robbing peter to pay paul" and ending up using a pay day loan from Wonga, this first one was paid off no problem, them I had to get a second, which I am now still paying off, although they have been very good and frozen the interest (which is quitee surprising!!)
My debts are as follows;
Halifax Credit Card - £2601.13 (APR 17.9%)
Smile Current Account Overdrafts (2) - £830.08 - Interest Frozen
Halifax Current Account - 670.13 - Working to Get this Frozen
Wonga - £379.59
So with an income of £1,044 per month and rent of £485, thigs are a little tight, looking for a second/bar job to help out with extra money as well as selling a lot of my dvd's and games on sites such as musicmagpie, to boost the funds.
I made a poor choice in debt management help and have been using Greggory Pennington, which took alot of the initial panic away from things but since I have calmed down and begun to go through things again, I am looking to either; use a free debt management company or see if I can keep or improve the negoiated rates and deal with the debts myself.
Apologies for rambling....and here's to striving to be debt free!!!
Simon

Ahhh welshone hug to you, everytime you feel fear of your post just think 'its only a bit of paper it cant actually hurt me even if I dont like the contents'. Never be scared to try and tackle your debt and remember every member of this entire board has been or is in exactly the same position as you, some through frivolous spending, some through necessity but all knowing that terror that you have debt hanging over your head and cant see the day when it will be gone.
We are a lovely bunch here and are more than happy to listen to each other moan about anything and everything . . . like my DH :rotfl: so anytime something happens good or bad you can tell us. Plus if you get a really scary letter, open this thread before you open it as that way we will be holding your hand, write a post as you do it if it makes you feel better even if you dont post it
But mostly take pleasure in every payment you make no matter how small as its each a step forward.
Aw thank you. I have read through some of the threads and I'm feeling really motivated. I'm determined 2012 will be my year to set a goal and stick to it.
I really believe that all you lovely people will be a big help to me.
I will be making many phone calls tomorrow to find out remaining debts on hp agreements and also gonig through every letter.Faced up to my debt Jan 2012.0 -
