Ahhh welshone hug to you, everytime you feel fear of your post just think 'its only a bit of paper it cant actually hurt me even if I dont like the contents'. Never be scared to try and tackle your debt and remember every member of this entire board has been or is in exactly the same position as you, some through frivolous spending, some through necessity but all knowing that terror that you have debt hanging over your head and cant see the day when it will be gone.
We are a lovely bunch here and are more than happy to listen to each other moan about anything and everything . . . like my DH :rotfl: so anytime something happens good or bad you can tell us. Plus if you get a really scary letter, open this thread before you open it as that way we will be holding your hand, write a post as you do it if it makes you feel better even if you dont post it :)
But mostly take pleasure in every payment you make no matter how small as its each a step forward.

What a lovely post!! This has made me feel all inspired again, thank you Jakes-mum!

I paid another £4.05 off a CC yesterday, which has taken my total to 17199.99 (yipppeeee under the 172000 mark!!). Won't update my total officially until I've paid a bit more.... loving seeing the totals go down.... keep at it everyone :T
+My goodness I am well under the 172,000 mark.... I'd be a bit concerned if I had that much unsecured debt!! Baby brain!!:rotfl:

Welcome Glenda - the first few steps are the scariest, but we will hold your hand. I have posted this before but the Payment a day thread is a brilliant thread like this one. I dont think I would have come as far as I have without the help of these threads and the lovely people on them.

I really believe that spending was an addiction for me, and its one I am hoping to beat,

Well Done Jemma on your debt repayments - you are doing brilliantly :)
Pay off all my debts before Christmas 2015 #165.
  • I'd like to join this thread, completely new to site and this, but have been motivated reading through the posts and feel it will help me - to get rid of debt. Debt currently at a staggering £7855, decided to use savings (only money got of £1900 - to pay highest credit card as getting charged £50 per month on interest) leaves me £5955. Which will be struggle to pay of, and will need to watch spending, especially food bill, have to be honest and say probably waste lots of money here - taking tips form other trhreads and now making a meal planner. Sorry if I am rambling, as well as paying debt of, will also try and loose weight, need to loose at least 112 pounds. So by end of 2012 - new debt free me (well, except mortgage)
