Anyone fancy doing no chocolate for March with me or whatever is your weakness???
I'm fasting for most of March, plus I've been trying for the last month to eat the 'Eat to Live' way to get rid of my acid reflux issues - it's mostly just vegetables, pulses and unrefined carbs, so I'm off choccie/crisps too! I've found that after a while of eating healthily the thought of putting rubbish in me doesn't seem so appealing anymore, and I am a serious comfort eater with chocolate tendencies!!

I'll give up chocolate for march! Have been doing a lot more exercise over the last few weeks (jillian Michael's 30 day shred!) and although I'm losing inches I need to eat a little more healthily to lose weight.
COUNT ME IN!! Especially after the enormous roast dinner and sticky toffee pudding (homemade!!) I have just eaten. I can barely breathe for trying to hold my stomache in!! :j
    LBM 14th Oct 2011 TOTAL DEBT £8500  £8500/£8500 (100%) paid)

Pay off all my debts my xmas 2012 challenge #13:j
  • I'll give up chocolate for March too :D I was reading some blogs earlier and a few people have signed up to a 100 day no shopping thing - think I'm going to join in with that starting March 1st.

No buying anything other than food, travel, cat stuff! I do have one BIG thing planned for when I get paid at the end of March as a congratulations present for myself for actually clearing my debts though and that is still happening :rotfl: I could do without buying things I don't need - magazines/takeaways/make-up and junky bits I don't need - and it'll help with wedding and house saving too so can't argue with that! :D

So just avoiding chocolate for just a month shouldn't be too bad :p

Had one of my meltdowns tonight :( it all got on top of me and ended up telling DH how much im resenting having no pennies (I get like this every 6 months or so). Just told him ive been waiting 10 years to finally be able to go to the bank each month and have 'me' money, ok I prob wouldnt actually spend it on anything, but its the feeling of having money there if I did want something. Dh said 'I could give you £1k right now but you wouldnt be happy' to which I replied 'of course I wouldnt because I know you would take it off a credit card to give it too me, so YOUR not giving me £1k, the bank is'. He had a bit of a think about this and then said 'ok so say I personally had £1k in my pocket that I had saved and I gave it too you, what would you spend it on?' and I replied 'i'd pay it off debt'. He gives me a little knowing smile and said 'see even if I had money to give you, you still wouldnt spend it on yourself! you've always been at your happiest when you watch our debt going down'

I had to giggle as its very true, I do love anything to do with counting money, percentages and love watching that big figure becoming smaller and smaller. He said im getting obsessive about the debt but he also understands where im coming from. So im over my moment of mopes and ready to try and get more money together for the debt busting.

  • I think it gets us all down at some point jakes-mum - the £1,100+ I have to spend on the car this month has certainly affected my motivation.

However I am able to pay the car bills WITHOUT using credit, something that would have been unheard of a year or two ago.

Look at it this way, once your debt is gone (which you're doing an excellent job at!) you'll likely still retain the same attitude to money, but instead will be saving it and allowing yourself extra spending money.

My aim originally was to remove the 'money stress' that I'm sure a lot of us have had at some point in the past. Car needs repairs or boiler breaks down - think of how nice it would be just to be able to deal with it instead of stressing about how you were going to pay for it? I had my first experience of this the other day and it felt great :)

The only downside of course is that the £1,100 could have been put towards my debts instead of the car, but at least my debt didn't increase!
    I was a DFW, now I'm a MFW :T

Total bow out today. £120 on a lovely puffa jacket for OH for Canada, £35 discounted gap jeans, £35 guess tshirt, £45 long sleeved guess tshirt, £35 lunch. Complete blow out but I've got a lovely new outfit that fits perfectly (h&m, top shop don't fit properly). OH is 35 by the way :)

Just had a rubbish night out with uni mates, I was having a laugh with one of the girls and said something that I thought wasn't too outrageous in jest, one of the others threw a massive tantrum and I think I've pretty much been kicked out of the group of friends I was on the outside of already. So...

Wanted: some lovely fiends that can don't get smashed all the I'm, don't take other or grated, and try to resolve minor problems instead of throw a paddy. Location: currently London. For: 25yo DFW that tries to be nice to people, but expects them to treat her the way they expected to be treated, and likewise she'll return the gesture :)

Kerri, I'm more than happy to meet up for an MSE night or day sometime. I've just spend the weekend in London courtesy of Mr S and I love the atmosphere. It's easier said than done, but they don't sound like great friends anyway. It's hard though when you don't know many people...

Jemma... I'll give up chocolate too, maybe :)

hugs to those who are having or have had a carppy time.

Dolly Rocker that is an absolutely disgusting thing to do, I hope it didn't completely ruin your day :(

I'm supposed to be going to my friends ann summers party tonight but it's half an hour away, I haven't packed to go away tomorrow yet and i'm pooped... not having done anything for weeks and being out last night and today has taken it out of me. I feel bad not going but would it not be worse if I went and was miserable? It's getting too late to go now anyway.... yawn.

Had a whoopsie in primarni today, but haven't tried what I bought on so might take it back yet. I did need to replace my holey cardigan though, so it wasn't entirely unnecessary!

On an annoying note, my lighting circuit seems to have gone apart from in 2 rooms. I've tried changing the fuse and bulbs but nothing happens. So looks like calling an electrician - no idea how much that will cost, but I know I could do without it!!
