No I don't like Danny Dyer, but I do like laughing at rubbish actors. Just had lemon roulade and mint vienetta. So I've cleared Freemans :) I had £24.09 left to pay so decided to just go for it :) one creditor down, 3 to go :D

Looks like some of you are doing really well :T

I can't wait to get paid so I can pay off more of my debt as I really feel I've been slipping recently. Biggest evidence of this is that I've had spendy days for the last 10 days!!!
Need to get back on track as I forgot to factor my car insurance and also MOT/servicing etc into the equation for paying off my debt and think I may need brakes pads too... :(

I think I'm having a proper "meh" time at the moment cos I'm not well (chesty cough, pains in my chest, feeling generally rubbish...) but I need to go down to Liverpool to see my friend back from Afghan on R&R. I just want to stay in bed and feel sorry for myself...

Oh and my sister dropped the bombshell that when it's my Uncle's birthday next week we are all going out for a family meal...:eek::eek:

What a beautiful day today, my parents have just set off to Lake Windermere lucky sods!

Hope you are all doing well on your debt busting, someone plus give me either inspiration or just a general kick up the backside... :o xxx
New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T

Ooh Jemma you need to get potty :p mot works out at about £5 a month into the pot, servicing £20 a month into the pot and car insurance depends on what yours costs divided by 12. Car tax is also about £20 a month, that way you've got the extra little bits like brake pads covered. I think I put aside about £80 a month to cover everything.this might seem huge, but it's nice when I've got a £200 service and don't have to panic about how I'm going to eat for the month :)

  • Think I'm going to have to look at this pot system it makes so much sense.

Jemma I hope you feel better soon, have a lovely Sunday in and do nothing, that always make me feel better, I hide from the world when i'm feeling ill.

Well I am chuffed that I have managed to get thru half term with out massive guilt trip over spending. DD has had lots of friends to see & nice day out in Manchester and I have shabby chicced her room for less than £20 so I don't feel she has done too badly for a holiday:)
I have stuck to budget for food & petrol and have added 2 more NSD this weekend.
I am going to try to move MSE ways into back of my mind now. All plans should just tick over (ie bills are all at lowest possible and are DD) budgets are set. As long as I stay out of shops & anywhere money could leave my purse I will be fine :rotfl:
I am going to try to concentrate now on making life pleasant, fun & guilt free so I don't feel "hard done" by or guilty at not spending on kids.
This is my New, New Year Resolution! Today I have cleaned house (had viewer so needed to), done bit of work to get back into school tomo, and been for walk in glorious sunshine.
A day to count blessings :D

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everybody who told me to go second hand for stuff for the new house.....

We went out today and bought a 3 year old Zanussi washing machine for £65. In excellent condition only so cheap as needed it shifted for brand new washing machine which was inherited from a family member :j:j

I reckon that is a saving of approx. £165, maybe more. Not to mention any interest added because it would have been on credit :o:eek:

Also, we bought a car yesterday to replace the wrote-off one... I managed to convince the BF that there was no need whatsoever to get one on finance so we have fully paid for that too :)

So although we still need to buy a fridge freezer and bed I think we are doing a good job of damage limitation because we could be well into another £2000 of debt by now if this had been this time last year!
