  • Can I join in?

I have £4000 to repay £2000 overdraft, £1650 on one credit card and £350 on another. I havent managed to save anything this month or probably wont next either because i am moving house but after that i hope to try and save £500 or more per month and will be soung overtime at work. I realy need a kick up the bum as i have been working for nearly 2 years at my current job which is quite well paid and i still have my student debts. Hopefully joining this thread will motivate me!

Oooo Psychopathbabble, yummy!! I bagsy the chocolate muffins (ooo feel like im back at school again bagsy'ing things :rotfl:)

I do have a pic of the valentines day coffee cake I made DH but I never posted it :o he's only got 1 slice left

Quite randomly I was thinking about birthday cake making this morning in bed :rotfl: im a bit premature as Jakes birthday isnt till end of May but was trying to think of a theme, I have bought the cakes from the SM before for him, but last year got the A*da gluten free chocolate cake . . . ughhhhh! we had to chuck it all in the bin, it tasted like rice and was dry as dry can be :( so going to make it this year (he always likes my cakes anyway so I need to stop being lazy). Do we think 11 is too youn for a lego brick? :rotfl:

Hi all, hope you are all well? I haven't been on here much as working three jobs is tiring and my MSE life has hit a stumbling block as my son's health hasn't been so good. He's better now but have to be honest our MSE life has taken a back seat!

Thanks for all your replies - very helpful :)
It is funny how thought processes change isn't it? A few months ago I wouldnt even be asking whether I should get it on credit - I would have just done it! :o I have starting looking around on Gumtree...but I have to admit I am having trouble signing up for Freecycle - it seems complicated but I will go and try again now...

I am resigned to the fact that the debt busting is going to take a bit longer because of the car/house but I am quite determined not to get myself into a much worse situation because of it. :)

Have you got anything like a shop that sells seconds like fridges/washing machines etc that have dented casings, shelves missing or have been delivered to people and they were the wrong item etc so they're sold on at reduced price? We have one in Brum called Borsch Electric... its a huge place.
Does anyone else find it really hard to buy full price items even though they are essential eg shoes, sock, undies, etc or is it just me? Or is it because been debt busting for so long that can't buy anything even if the money is there?

Absolutely. Even if I have a gift card or something. I only buy things at full porice if there is absolutely no alternative and I really nedd it. Then I'm all huffy about it
