I was up at 8, have done laundry, hoovering and dusting and the mountain of washing up. So my natural instinct is telling me to mooch in to town and have a look around. Or maybe go to Matalan (which is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me...)
But the new me knows that if I go in to town, I'll probably buy things and I don't actually need anything right now.
I have got a pracel to collect form the sorting office - some cheap DVDs I got on ebay I think, so as the weather is a bit dull I could settle in and watch them, or I might do a bit of work for school so I can be lazy guilt-free for the rest of the weekend.
Hmmm. No inspiration.Lightbulb moment Nov 2011

Getting soooooo fed up waiting for my Virgin statement so I can do my monthly total update. Next month i'm going to use the "estimated next month's interest" totals off the statements to update as I make payments as it's painful only updating once a month.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0

No 149 Another update: Debt paid off is actually £4,518.32
Been a der brain and not correctly logged my interest for Vanquis credit card! Its was actually 34.08% not 39.9%.
However a bit a mini dilemma now. The next card with the highest apr is Capital One at 35.9%.
I've got £317.91 on the Vanquis and £1,079.09 left on capital one. Paying £50.00 to Vanquis and £45.00 to Capital one. Should I switch tactics and pay off Capital one first or stick at the Vanquis one!0 -

Ostrich I work mine out in an excel sheet and work out the interest over a 12 month period. So far for the last two months I have over guestimated and then I can recheck later when the statement comes through. I'm guessing due to the overpayments each month I have put the interest amount at a higher amount and its a few more fence off my debt but when you look 5 cards its nice to see another £3 off dropping off0 -
Yippee I have had a letter back about my uniform laundry and shoe allowance, it says that they are doing my calculations! I have also decided that Im going to sell my car as its way too heavy on diesel and will be making a saving of about £525 on the fuel and car tax alone plus the diesel will stretch further. Got it booked in the garage to fix a couple of things first though that will set me back £105.
My plan for today is to list my things on ebay! Argh not very exciting but will be worth it when the money comes through:)0 -
morning all.
a wonderful wet saturday morning here.
i have sent hubby of to norwich to return a coat i bought in the sales so instead of going with him and buying more stuff i dont need im here doing chores - what a good girl i am.
so the returned coat means another £50 off my credit card.
No. 78 £300/£4,500.
im thrilled. enjoy your weekend everyone xx0 -
Found out i do infact now have early repayment charges, best way is to pay the whole loan off in lump sum. So need £2,570 for smallest loan, will be paying it off middle of Febuary id imagine. This will bring loans outstanding down to £9,864.22 to pay in 4 months. So £2,500 a month, no problem...ahem!Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Well after an incredibly tough week workwise, I had a lovely sleep last night and woke up about 9am. I've then been reading a fantastic book called "The Longest Climb" which is about a group of people cycling from the lowest point on Earth (the Dead Sea) to the highest point on Earth (Everest) and then climbing it! It is the ulimate ascent all using human power. So inspiring! Don't get me wrong, I'm not a traveller and my dodgey tummy doesn't lend itself well to having foreign food unfortunately but I love reading about others stories of endurance and dreams. I always wanted to climb Everest as a child/young adult but knowing more about it has made me realise the risks are just too great for me to take. Whilst I understand their obsession with climbing to the highest point on the Earth, I could not justify risking my life to do it. I think it's 1 in 10 people die...
Oh and I think I should mention here that I am a bit lazy to be honest so the effort would be just too much... I find it difficult enough getting the motivation to go out for a walk let alone months trying to climb a mountain!!! :rotfl:
Anyhoo, I'm off out for tea tonight and tomorrow with friends so I'm excited about catching up with them. Need to do some Ebaying first and go for a long walk to make up for the chinese last night (oops...!). First though, I need to update all your lovely totals and add our new members as I didn't do it last night (BAD JEMMA!)
Have a lovely day everyone and keep debtbusting!!! It's almost 11 months exactly until the end of our debtfree journey and it will go very quickly so every day and every payment counts and gets us ever closer... xxxNew Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
