Ooooo Antonia you sound like you had fun :D

I met my DH in the pub when I was 17  he was 26 and worked behind the bar, that was a difficult conversation 3 weeks later when I had to say 'you know I said I was 18 . . . . ' as it was my birthday the next day and I knew he would twig when he met me and my mates to go to the nightclub and I had a great big 'Im 18 Today!!' badge on :rotfl: Ive never seen the blood rush from his face quicker than at the beginning of that sentence :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ooooh how did you meet? I've been single for sooooo long and one of my resolutions for this year is to meet someone but have no idea where to start as all my friends are married with kids already (I'm only 30!) and don't go out, or if we do then everyone are always in couples... Wow I feel like Bridget Jones when she sits at that table surrounded by smug happy couples asking why she's still single! People ask me this and I either respond with "the good ones are either taken, gay or dead" or "I'm too picky". The real truth is that it's hard to meet someone when you are a recovering workaholic and have been hurt in the past! I've now got all this spare time and no idea where to start with getting more of a social life. Any ideas peeps? xxx

Oh and can't cost too much money!

Could set up a dating challenge within the group!! At least we would all understand that it has to be cheap dates haha!:rotfl::beer:

You guys really made me chuckle. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

DorstGirl, Unfortunately I am one of two who are the youngest on site by at least 15 years, the majority are married (and these seem to be flirty ones!!!) and the other person my age is a lesbian! We're great friends and go out for tea every sunday for a good gossip about work but I'm not that way inclined... We had 3 contractors on site and 2 of them were interested in me (according to my lil friend who told me on the Sunday) but then found out that they were both married! My boss was sending me text messages in the middle of the night for over 2 years but stopped about 12 months ago thankfully as I'm not interested and I just always ignored it. Well he's married too!!! Oh and there is another guy who is lovely but guess what....? HE'S MARRIED!!! Honestly, it doesn't help my mistrust of men when they carry on like this and then go on about their wives as their "ball and chains!". Are there actually nice men out there???!!!

Antonia, don't read the above!, I am genuinely really pleased for you hun, wish I had a lovely big grin on my face, it's so exciting (if I can remember that far back!) feeling all those butterflies of whether it will work and anticipation of seeing them again. Fingers, toes and everything crossed for you both. p.s. any spare jobs going...? :rotfl: xxx

rjh35, loving the idea! Maybe one of my posts on page 1 should be like a Lonely Hearts ad.:rotfl:

    Loubie_lou, ARE WE TWINS?????!!!!!!

Canucksfan, thanks hun but I promise I'm feeling loads better now. Just had a couple of days where my tummy was protesting to the lovely spicy food... (I'm normally fine with them but not at the moment it seems!)

I too live my ma and pa when i'm not working away.
I too still have loads of debt after uni
I too have been single for along time (since 2005 ) and that guy was a complete douche bag! Put me off men for life!

WOW! Sounds like me 9 years ago. I must confess after being set one too many times by my couply friends - the last guy having changed his name by deedpoll to Grim... Mr Grim Reaper, I kid you not - I joined a few online dating sites, found my Mr Right eventually after a few frogs along the way.Have cashed in £10 of consumer pulse points for argoos vouchers as I need a new stir-fry pan, pulled mine out from back of the cupboard today and it looks rusty!

I've decided I'm going back to lido tonight for more of the cheap loo roll before the offer ends. Then I'm going to take a rucksack into work for the rest of the week so I can grab a few tins of the cheapo beans that are on offer from Thursday. Someone tell me I'm not mad

I seriously had to force myself to keep my face straight :rotfl: there was a very apprehensive 'so how old are you then . . . ' and the look of sheer relief when I said 'well its my 18th birthday tomorrow actually' I reacon he thought I might turn round and tell him I was 14 or something :rotfl::rotfl:

Ahh but I always tell him he was destined for a much younger woman as hes such a child himself :rotfl::rotfl: it quite sad that ive always been the grown up in our relationship :rotfl::rotfl:

Kerri - you're buying things you use whilst they're on offer, thus saving. Makes perfect sense. As to whether you're mad...

Everyone I know thinks I'm nuts for doing it though :( I'm going to have 50 odd tins of beans by the end of this week in my stockpile haha. No idea how quickly I eat beans. OH can have them for lunch at the weekend instead of making me go to the cafe.
