Also, looking at this statement I am paying £9.50 for a 'repayment option plan' each month.... what is that?! And they have also added £16.26 for 'billed deffered finance charges' what are those?!?

I think the defered finance charge is where you had an interest free period (say a TV that offered it interest free for 12 months) if you hd paid the balance off within that 12 months you wouldnt pay interest, if you still had a balance, all the interest from those first 12 months are then charged.

Dont know what the repayment thing is, might be worth a phone call to them to ask

My god, gearbox isnt going to cost £900...now costing £1,400!!! Hope that is my only unexpected expense this year, that is a shockingly high amount, i am not impressed!! My debt repayments are shockingly high aswel i realised this is because its such a short term they are over. Right now i have next to no emergency funds though while i try and get rid of this debt, get gearbox sorted and pay holiday. Ahwell things will start looking up as of Friday...payday and only outgoing between that and the next one are £46 insurance and £44 phone so £100 out with the extra £500 for gearbox as taken £900 out for it so far...should be paying £500ish off debts on Friday aswel.
Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

Added up all my little debts here and there and I've paid off more than I thought! :T I've been paying off a couple of pounds here and there when my bank account was looking healthy. So pleased as that's less interest to pay next month :D Cracking on with my Phoenix Trading and also I've been doing my usual comping in the eternal hope for that nice big fat cheque one day.
  • Oh and better do a money update while I'm here! Things are looking quite good at the mo - getting ever closer to payday (always nice!) and I'm expecting some cashback from Quidco (£43-ish!!) and have ebay auctions finishing tomorrow - so if they sell (2 have bids so far, others have watchers) then that will be another nice little boost towards funds for the end of the month :) If I can get just another £50 together to round my debt down to £800 I'll be VERY pleased so I've got my fingers crossed for that :D

    £700/£1550 45.16%!!

I'm absoutely amazed that I've paid off £700 since the start of this thread!! Thank you so much to Jemma for starting it and all the other lovely board members who post and keep everyone else so motivated!! :T:T:T

OOOOh and as I was just writing that my phone twinkled which means there is another bid on one of my ebay items! This thread is working!! :rotfl:

    Hi all,

I've just stumbled upon this challenge and I'd really like to join in. I have several cc's all on 0% deals, but instead of paying them off, I seem to have got into the habit of shuffling them around to another deal. :o I have also booked a holiday which we really can't afford, but I'm committed now & if we tighten our belts just a little it might well be possible to pay it all off by Xmas 2012.

    So.....
    CC1 0% £4291.16
    CC2 0% £5781.60
CC3 £ 775.99 (will be paid off in Jan from savings)
    Overdraft£ 971.06
Holiday £4960.00 (includes all the money I think I will need but not actually a debt yet)

Total £16779.81 (AT END DEC 11)

 I didn't realise our OD was technically that big. I usually massage this figure by writing cheques just before payday so the balance isn't ever that bad). I might need to put the holiday balance on an 0% deal when it is due in August, but I am really hoping to have saved enough to cover spends, car hire, airport parking, tickets etc

I won't be a frequent poster, but will update every month with the amounts paid off. I've already paid £400 on 3/1/12 :D

    So in Summary

    Ruthy1604 400/16779.81

I'm gonna try to read the rest of the posts on the thread now - I may be some time! ;)

Is this from a garage you trust? Just wondering as I got 3 quotes for my speedometer, (which interestingly isn't an MOT failure!) two garages quoted £80 and the third wanted £700!! so the other garage was blatantly ripping me off and I'm so glad my car isn't worth much otherwise I might have paid it. Is it worth talking to some other garages or seeing if friends of friends know anyone?

Did you make it via internet banking or payment on the site?

If you did it via internet banking it should show on Monday after 9pm (If you make the payment before lunchtime it will show that evening,. otherwise it will be the following evening not including weekends). If you did it via their online payment system it takes 2 working days for it to update so it should show wednesday evening.

hiya - i did it online system - so 2 working days would be all day on friday and all day on monday?just worrying i did something wrong lol u can tell i dont often make overpayments lol
