    Hi Banwa welcome back :)

Well all the best laid plans not paid much off the cc if anything its going to take a hit we have had a leak going on behind the wall in the bathroom which has meant the whole lot being ripped out and like any small job it just keeps growing :o
Also ive decided its time to change my car not only because mine is getting to an age its going to start costing and im going to need to car share with DS but it will save in the long run going for an eco friendly type just means a bit more debt.

On a positive note been busy trying to make £10 a day and meeting with friends sunday night to see how we have all got on im sure ive made 150 ish but to be honest lost count so it will be a surprise
Also sorted my new contract today for my new job managed a 3.5k payrise and my courses and exams paid for :j

I know the new year is going to bring lots of changes on the home and family life so going to pay as much off as i can in the next 5/6 weeks and just do my best, I see a new diary coming in the new year !!!!

Oh dear been MIA for over 2 Christmas's but im back and so much has changed.
Im now living alone with my son taking a diploma had a promotion and pay rise cleared my debt and ended up back here
Well I have accumulated another debt although not through bad spending I have bought myself another car and had to pay my fees for my course. Im considering more study later in the year so would love to be debt free before entering another phase of my life.
I haven't lost all my fruggle ways but I could certainly be doing better and where else to come for encouragement than my trusty debt free buddies
    So where I am today
Car loan only started last month over 3 years
    £7297.49
Credit card on 0% obviously for 15 months
    £4790.72
    So TOTAL DEBT £12088.21

Now for the plan well I don't really have one yet I know what I have to do and I have started 3 items listed on ebay tonight
Meal plan in place for the coming month as its payday on Monday
I have reduced my electricity tariff today saving £30 a month
I have set up a spreadsheet to track it all
If I behave have very little life I will be debt free Feb 2015
If I work hard find some extra work and look for pennies everywhere I can I will aim for Dec 2014

WISH ME LUCK I'M BACK :-)

Thank you for the welcome, its good to be back and taking control again.
    So positives for the day
    1. Paid off £150 I had been putting some cash away with a friend for just in case days so decided to use a little to start the all rolling
    2. Found some Euros will change tomorrow and put back with my friend to save
3.Budget in place if I continue with just normal payments I should e clear by April 2015
    4. Listed 11 items on ebay
    5. Made a list of money I have owing to me and a plan to chase
    6. Discovered some old shares not worth a lot maybe £100 but better off the debt
    7. Made a list of freezer food along with a meal plan so minimal shopping this month
So a good start to my debt free journey again its payday tomorrow so will make payments and update once that's done.
Feeling so positive today perhaps its easier when you have been here before all the little tricks come flooding back.
My aim will be to clear all this before the end of the year. 2015 will be the start of new things for me I hope
    Move house
File for divorce if im brave enough to tackle the subject
Hopefully qualify with my exams and get a better job

Looking forward to my first update tomorrow :-)

So payday has arrived and bank looked healthy for all of about 5 minutes.
Payments have been made so what I have left will just has to last ive been here before and once determination takes over its amazing how you can manage without buying all the little bits and bobs.
I was going to pay the CC off first and make small overpayments on the loan but for now im throwing more at the loan that's whats got interest going on it.
So my new total balance is £10995.04 looking forward to seeing that drop under £10K so that's my challenge before next payday
Watch out ebay im going to be busy

Full steam ahead here made a few pounds over the weekend in ebay so just collecting all that in and just transferred paypal money over and paid it straight off the loan.
Loan payment is due out tomorrow so the balance should be down to £6600 and very kindly Mr Halifax has sent a letter for the first overpayment saying how much interest I have saved and how the term has been reduced, I hope they don't do this everytime or I could be getting daily post from them.
Im hoping to collect some cash that is owed to me tomorrow not sure if I should make the effort to go to the bank or just hold on until all the ebay things have been collected and paid for then pay a nice chunk off again.
I know I wont have time for ebay over the next few weeks due to exams but im going to try and reduce debt to 10500 by payday.
ive had a productive evening making soup with veggies left in fridge and a nice choc cake for me and son its the small things that keep you going

  • Hi HWG, Great to see you posting again but :mad: to the debt, but if it's funding new qualifications and a better job in the future then it's useful debt.
You were my inspiration when i found MSE, so great to see you back with ebaying etc.
I'd love to change careers, what are you training towards?

Thanks for the post PWD I really must go back and read some of my diary it was written at a very low point in my life so im a little scared
The qualification im taking will open lots of doors internationally and im not quite sure which route to take just trying my best to qualify and then see where I go from there. I guess having no ties except for DS who is hoping to go to uni this year is making my choices so much more varied.
Moneywise I have paid another £30 to the loan and I have £130 cash which I need to get paid into the bank and moved to the loan also quite a productive ebaying session
As for spends I had 2 nights out last week so spent more than I would like but now its study time I doubt I will go out much before payday so fingers crossed I can keep the little bit left in the bank for an overpayment
