Nope, but try a search on mse and pepipoo, and maybe CAG forums as well, and there are always other places so try google, yahoo and so on.

By the way don't pay em anything if they gave you an invoice on private land

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

And now you can jointly sue the clampers and also the management company for the money back.

    Seconded.

MUSE you can sue (not appeal!!) for your money back but guess what, you must also include in your Small Claim the people who allow the clamper to be there. That's probably your Landlord or Managing Agent you pay your Ground Rent to (the very people who employ the nice but useless caretaker).

You do not need a solicitor and you just need advice from this pepipoo forum:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=60

Read some clamping threads - there are lots of people like you on that forum, currently suing clampers and whoever engaged them. Once you have read a few threads you should have as much info as you need to start your own thread there and get advice that will help you sue both parties during 2012. Often Managing Agents can be 'persuaded' to settle out of court but you have to be an assertive person so do you think you can do that (not being funny, you are young and you were understandably in tears about this scam).

Is there someone in your family who can rattle the cage of the Managing Agent? Don't let them do so yet, read some pepipoo threads first and start your own to get advice so you know the situation. You need a little knowledge first, otherwise your 'assertive' friend may just give up when the Agent says 'it's nowt to do with us'. Oh but it very much is, as a Small Claims judge would tell them!

No need to rattle the cage of the clamper as they won't just pay up, they won't allow an appeal so don't waste your postage. Go straight to 2 x Notices Before Action (see pepipoo threads, you will get the gist of what to say!).

This will be good experience for you and you've got nowt to lose except a £35+ SMall Claim fee in the unlikely event that you lose your case (most win who follow pepipoo advice, they know their stuff). But you need to know it will take some months to achieve unless you have a very assertive friend who can convince the Managing Agent to cough up before they go to Court.

Bottom line - DO NOT SUE THE CLAMPERS ALONE. Pointless, even if you won a case in Court against them they wont pay, but a Landlord or Managing Agent will have to because there's nowhere for them to hide, they have tangible assets.

And - apart from reading up on pepipoo - the first things to do are:

    1. Get some good photos of the signs/lack of signs, ready for your Small Claim case,

    2. Keep the receipt and take a scan or picture of it ready for your pepipoo thread (see other threads, the receipt is worth a look)

    3. Check the t&cs of your lease as to whether you have a right to park there regardless of a clamping scammer. Even if your lease doesn't help you on this score, it won't mean you don't have grounds to sue (as you clearly said you have had no clue or warning that clamping your car was possible, you did not enter into any 'contract' with the clamper, nor were you trespassing).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Clamper's use decoy vehicles, "look they have parked there an nothing has happened to them" so some mug joins in and wallop.

Thankfully it will soon be illegal to clamp cars on private land! If it happens again though, go and and get an angle grinder and cut the thing off, the scum don't deserve your money, or anyone's for that matter.

Please heed the advice of Coupon's, its the only way you to get your money back now.

It must be something in these parasites were they can stand in front of a young girl and her mum and take £130 off them! I think I would rather starve then have to do that for money!
I only ever had one run in with a clamper as we returned to my daughters correctly parked car just as he was about to put the boot on. I persuaded him not too, don't know if he was being reasonable, or it was me being 6ft 4in and 20 stone that made him decide not to put the boot on!:p

If he did it may well have been his last action!:)

Glad to see the police gave you some reassurance, its just a pity they could not find something wrong with the clamper or their van!

Make sure you put pressure on the management company, we have seen these repay rather then go through a court process!

These responses are Brill, Keep them coming please because A1 have it coming to them I can assure you. The more the better, One thing I would say is go through the appeal process so that you follow all of their rules and as stated then sue the Land owner. They are as bad as the clampers, in it for back handers. Its a very simple process to sue your landowner. Its a simple form on the HMCS web site, take it to your local Civil Justice Centre and pay the really helpful staff £35 pound and its done. You can claim all of it back along with interest when you take him to court. By the way, if he ignores the Court you can then instruct Baliffs to go to his private home address and demand money from him and take things away from his house. I can also tell you that he can also be made Bankrupt.

Another thing that you should do is take the SIA number and go on the SIA website to check if they are registered as a vehicle immobiliser. If they are not then that is a criminal offence against them and who ever they work for along with the Landlord. Another Why not just get a couple of mates and park one really close behind the fat guys van and one in front so they can't move either.

You will probably find that the Clamper thug will be registered but thats fine. . What I would do if I were you is speak to a TV show in Wales called the Ferret and get them on to the case. They like a good rogue clamper story Our Friend has CCJ's against him and well known in the Pontypridd area. The Ferret will help you. I will tune in and watch out.
